This is critical. The United States is losing its status as the leader of the free world and is started down a rabbit hole of self destruction. The open border policies and giving non legal migrants everything, free health care, free college, free housing, free food, free transportation, free cell phones, free money is non sustainable and we are feeling it in our live's now, everything cost substantially more than what it did 3.5 years ago.

What you have described is how US citizens subsidize big business who hire illegals. The low-wage earner qualifies for a lot of economic help, so he/she effectively earns, or receives, enough money and aid to make ends meet---at taxpayers' expense. So big business doesn't pay for them to make it, you do.

The border isn't open and we aren't giving migrants and asylum seekers everything. No free health care, no free college, etc. The migrants are doing the hard physical labor that natural born Americans won't do, maybe that's where the free food comes from, and keeps the cost down for you.

There needs to be a minimum qualification before anyone can apply to become an American citizen. They need to be educated or have a skill set that is needed, allowing them to support themselves. I cannot believe the billions that have been spent just this year to house and feed all these people that came across the border. Our politicians sadly seem to forget we have a 34 trillion dollar debt and allowing this open border is only making our financial problems worse.

There are already laws in place. All they have to do is enforce them. They do not need to do anything else to curb immigration-just follow the laws in place.

Why should the American public pay for people that are not citizens to live in this country? It doesn't matter the circumstances, if they wanted to come to America and to become legal there are ways to do that. The cost of keeping them, feeding them, or even incarcerating them is a strain on the economy already stretched thin by the Biden-Harris Administration.

Why are American companies allowed to hire undocumented workers? There are a lot of wealthy Americans that benefit greatly from this workforce. Perhaps these wealthy Americans can pay for some of these costs.

Not sure why this was rejected? Shut border down for 6 months completely. Deport everyone you can to the other side. After 6 months commerce opens. 24 months later legal immigration begins. Illegal crossings are dealt with a heavy hand. Stop all the entitlement awards to non tax contributors.

I'm glad to see the Texas judge stepping in to halt this program. It's about time we start enforcing our laws and protecting our borders rather than encouraging more illegal immigration. We need policies that prioritize the safety and security of American citizens first and foremost.

Finally, a judge with common sense putting American interests first by stopping this reckless program that only incentivizes breaking our laws.

This decision is a frustrating setback for families who were looking forward to being reunited or staying close to their loved ones without the looming threat of deportation. It's disheartening to see policies that aim to keep families together get challenged and blocked. The argument that it encourages illegal immigration seems misplaced, as the program is about providing legal avenues for those already deeply integrated into American society through their families. We need to advocate for more compassionate and sensible immigration policies that recognize the importance of family unity.

It's incredibly disheartening to see a compassionate initiative like the Biden administration's program for spouses of U.S. citizens get blocked. This program was a beacon of hope for so many families, aiming to keep them together rather than separated by bureaucratic red tape. By halting it, we're not only undermining the values of family unity but also demonstrating a lack of empathy towards those who seek a better life with their loved ones. It's crucial we stand against such rulings that only serve to tear families apart, instead of fostering an inclusive community that recognizes the importance of keeping loved ones together.

What are your thoughts on the argument that programs like these encourage illegal immigration?

Do you believe the government should prioritize keeping families together in its immigration policies?
