No, and adoption agencies should prioritize offering children to straight couples before offering to gay couples

Learn more about LGBT Adoption Rights
LGBT adoption is the adoption of children by lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) persons. This may be in the form of a joint adoption by a same-sex couple, adoption by one partner of a same-sex couple of the other's biological child (step-child adoption) and adoption by a single LGBT person. Joint adoption by same-sex couples is legal in 25 countries. Opponents of LGBT adoption question whether same-sex couples have the ability to be adequate parents while other opponents question whether natural law implies that children of adoption possess a natural right to be raised by heterosexual parents. Since constitutions and statutes usually fail to address the adoption rights of LGBT persons, judicial decisions often determine whether they can serve as parents either individually or as couples. I think this is too new of an issue, and the children who have been adopted by gay couples haven't reached adult age to be able to voice their own opinion as to how they felt about their childhood. 5 months ago from a Republican in McDonough, GA
What in the name. That's like telling a five year old to never go back to their mother, if they don't understand why you guys are both men or women and don't understand the production of human. Explain to them at least, if you don't... 6 months ago from a Democrat in Deltona, FL
Yes, gay couples statistically have more stable families. 6 months ago from a Green in Minneapolis, MN
Psychometric Assessments to gay couples to ensure they have the right balance of male-female thinking in the family-compartmentalization and interconnectivity. 6 months ago from a Democrat in Apra Harbor, GU
Yes as long as the child is home schooled, because the child will be bullied a lot so if they are home schooled they won't have to deal with kids bullying them. 7 months ago from a Green in Chicago, IL
Yes, Research has shown that Gay couples make excellent parents. 7 months ago from a Republican in Fayetteville, NC
A person with same-sex attraction who is not practicing the homosexual lifestyle should have the same adoption rights as straight couples. 7 months ago from a Green in Buda, TX
To the same extent that black kids should be raised by black parents, to the extent possible all kids should be raised by a mother and father. 7 months ago from a Libertarian in Plantation, FL
Why can't two gay men find Two Lesbians, get to know each other almost like dating and arrange a clinic date for insemination?. 7 months ago from a Constitution in Paradise, NV
The mother should make that choice. 7 months ago from a Republican in Cincinnati, OH
I believe gays are people and God says to love all people. If they are able to care for the child in a better manner than the child's biological parents, then I say it would be good for the child to have someone who will love them. 7 months ago from a Republican in Camp Wood, TX
No, adoption is not a right; it is a privilege. 7 months ago from a Republican in Granite City, IL
A study is needed. To see the effects of individual environment, social class, financial standing...etc.
You know, the kind of "study" that is done by dumbocrats, to later implement " regulations"
(control). 8 months ago from a Republican in Norwich, CT
My main concern is that adoption agencies shouldn't be made to work with gay couples in adoptions if it is against their religious beliefs. 8 months ago from a Republican in Waynesboro, VA
I think kids are best with two loving, healthy, stable parents, and in an ideal world, those parenst would be one male and one female. That said, I am sure that there are many gay parents who are "better" than many "straight" ones. 8 months ago from a Republican in Malvern, PA
The whole system needs revamped to match children according to their needs. People with disabilities are actively discouraged and stopped from pursuing adoptions without knowledge of their abilities. The system is a mess. 8 months ago from a Republican in Neosho, MO
That is a hard question as I believe that every child should have a father and a mother. It is the healthiest way for a child to develop, in my opinion. 8 months ago from a Republican in West Hollywood, CA
Yes, government shouldn't restrict people. 8 months ago from a Libertarian in Paragon Estates, CO
I don't think the government should rule over this. It should be decided on a case by case basis, and some mandatory counseling and gender focused education be given to these couples so they understand and accept the fact that gender plays a... 8 months ago from a Republican in Rockford, IL
Yes - and they should be actively recruited and vetted to adopt children who are in "the system". Many gay couples have gone through social trauma and are adept at helping children deal with social stigma and provide contexts of family that... 8 months ago from a Green in Arlington, TX
Yes, but the same-sex foster parents should be prosecuted for child abuse if they are forcing their homosexual views on to said child. They should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law if the child grows up with psychological issues due to this... 8 months ago from a Republican in New York, NY
No, unless there is no otherwise qualified couple in line. 8 months ago from a National Front in Rowland Heights, CA
No, this is similar to a single parenting, not an ideal family environment, but doable. The loss of a gender is not something to be overlooked, and children who grow up without a father or mother will always want to know about them. Purposely removing a... 8 months ago from a Republican in Austin, TX
