No, increasing the minimum wage would just be crazy. Its like saying if the minimum wage had a professional job like a teacher. Which that teacher went to school longer and got a degree just to make the same amount as a McDonalds worker.

  @VulcanMan6  from Kansas  disagreed…2yrs2Y

Yes, and make it a living wage

Teachers AND McDonald's workers should be making more. Literally ALL workers should be making more than a living wage.

 @9HVPV33 from Nebraska  answered…2yrs2Y

No, states should be allowed to choose their minimum wage. A living wage in New York city is VERY different than a living wage in small town America.

  @9CJ6CB6 from Virginia  commented…2yrs2Y

Yeah, I think that it should rise accordingly in different states, at the very least.

 @9G9CHNGDemocrat from California  answered…2yrs2Y

They should set a minimum that allows people to live and then not change it until people can no longer live with that amount.

 @96CYN74 from Arkansas  answered…3yrs3Y

 @9WSNHF7Democrat from California  answered…8mos8MO

As it should not be used as a main source of income, some people may not be able to achieve more and it should be increased by a very little bit.

 @9WHMPXYDemocrat from Virginia  answered…9mos9MO

Yes, but have the federal government and each state government adjust it every year for inflation, as different parts of the country have different costs of living.

 @9VZD72PDemocrat from Massachusetts  answered…9mos9MO

Increase it to a living wage that scales with inflation each year, and do not count tips as part of an hourly wage.

 @9V8KQSVDemocrat from Michigan  answered…9mos9MO

I believe they should higher it until the point where the prices are even more highly inflated that many people can't afford stuff.

 @9V7DFM2Democrat from California  answered…9mos9MO

Yes, and make it mandatory for cost of living adjustments for non minimum wage jobs as minimum wage goes up.

 @9TX3V3KDemocrat from Georgia  answered…10mos10MO

Yes, it should be a living wage adjusted by age group and it should be adjusted every year according to inflation

 @9TTYQF5Democratanswered…10mos10MO

It should be at least a living wage, depend on the area, and be adjusted every year to match inflation/deflation.

 @9TH3RVTDemocrat from California  answered…10mos10MO

Not the president but an appointed committee as other countries have implemented. This committee can consist of economic experts who are already aware of inflation and to keep minimum wage along with it.

 @9TGNX2MDemocrat from Minnesota  answered…10mos10MO

keep it the same because raising the minimum wage will raise prices of stuff at that store and eventually raise taxes

 @9T8LQ32Democrat from Washington  answered…10mos10MO

Yes, and adjust it to fit what is needed to live however keep watch so we don't repeat a never ending climb of prices

 @Isaac-BarretoDemocrat  from Florida  answered…10mos10MO

minimum wage should allow people to live at the very minimum a little over the poverty line for their state.

 @9SZJS3NUnity from Arizona  answered…10mos10MO

If conservatives want to eliminate government imposed hourly wages, they should agree to co-determination laws that empower workers representatives to negotiate wages and benefits, and stakeholder decision making.

 @9SNWN66Democrat from California  answered…10mos10MO

Any job that requires a degree higher than standard high school education should have a higher wage than those without.

 @9SLQMPFDemocrat from California  answered…10mos10MO

Yes, but only for those who are in lower-income marginalized communities due to less educational opportunity

 @9RTSRVR from Tennessee  answered…11mos11MO

Most jobs pay above the minimum wage, including entry level, decreasing or increasing would have little effect

 @9RRWQMQDemocratfrom Guam  answered…11mos11MO

Yes and make it a sliding scale that increases to a living wage as you age (up to around 25 years old)

 @9RM68MJDemocrat from Texas  answered…11mos11MO

Most minimum wage jobs are to develop experience but there should be an evaluation of what is considered minimum wage and there should be a yearly adjustment to inflation.

 @9R7Z98DDemocrat from Wisconsin  answered…12mos12MO

Minimum wage should be a livable wage but not make the middle and upper class wage be less advanced. Inflation and prices should be decreased to a reasonable standard again.

 @9PZ28L3Democrat from Arkansas  answered…1yr1Y

It should be based on regional living expense. But. If corporations like Walmart should be required to pay living wage to full time employees. If a full time employee is eligible for food stamps, the government and the taxpayers are subsidizing Walmart who doesn’t need subsidies to survive.

 @8XLR4JXDemocrat  from North Carolina  answered…1yr1Y

Absolutely. The minimum wage should be made a living wage with a set standard depending on region and should be adjusted according to inflation

 @9MFH6QY from California  answered…1yr1Y

Minimum wage should be changed in order to be more adaptable to local costs of living, inflation, etc etc

 @9LK6KN4Democrat from Oregon  answered…1yr1Y

Yes, and make it a livable wage. It should be implemented with protections for workers and small Businesses.

 @9LFCRR8Democratfrom Guam  answered…1yr1Y

No, adjust it according to inflation for now. But actively get rid of the loopholes within Georgia and Wyoming which prevent the Federal Minimum wage being enacted fairly.

 @9L4SLHBDemocrat from Indiana  answered…1yr1Y

Minimum wage jobs are meant to develop experience but too many citizens are working them trying to make a living wage out of it.

 @9KX8R2DDemocrat from Massachusetts  answered…1yr1Y

No, the government should create a county mandate for county governments to establish minimum wages that are according to the local cost of living. If a county doesn't comply or goes below the local cost of living, federal usurpation of the establishment of the local minimum wage will occur.

 @9KDHBVK from Florida  answered…1yr1Y

I do believe in rising minimum wage, however I oppose the idea that the government has most of the control. There should be a separate organization full of economist and market experts that will raise the wage based on inflation. This will cause a steady increase rather than a sudden change like the government will do.

 @9KBVM2WDemocrat from Oregon  answered…1yr1Y

The minimum wage should be adjusted with inflation, and people who are entering an entry-level job as an adult with college should leave and find a job that sustains them.

 @9K4NDL5Democrat from Georgia  answered…1yr1Y

I do think we should raise the minimum wage, but in order to avoid an increase in prices for everyone else we need to implement training for said jobs.

 @9JT69HZDemocrat from Oregon  answered…1yr1Y

Yes, and adjust it nationally according to each region's cost of living like the Federal government already does for civilian positions.

 @9JSLXBLDemocrat from California  answered…1yr1Y

Yes, but also increase the salary for those who are not payed minimum wage, for example, people who work in tech fields get a base salary, and it is unfair if their paycheck stays the same, while the lower jobs are getting payed more.

 @9JS84G6 from New York  answered…1yr1Y

yes, in teaching especially and more on people who risk life everyday like police men and people who build.

 @9GQXP78  from Arizona  answered…1yr1Y

Yes, adjust it every year according to inflation, and the minimum wage standards should also be adjusted by age group

 @9HNQDWPDemocrat from Pennsylvania  answered…2yrs2Y

No, but offer substantial tax cuts to companies that pay their employees living wages and provide them proper benefits and drastically increase taxes on companies that pay their employees below living wages and offer little to no benefits. Then use that tax money to invest in social welfare programs.

 @9HF233VDemocrat from Arizona  answered…2yrs2Y

That depends on the company paying. For example, a cooperate business such as Walmart or Target should have a minimum wage raise, but smaller, more local companies should have a lower minimum wage -- still livable, but not as much as the larger companies.

 @9H47GC7Democrat from Indiana  answered…2yrs2Y

It should incentivize local government to set their own fair minimum wage based on federal standards

 @9GX62WVDemocrat from North Carolina  answered…2yrs2Y

Absolutely. Make it a living wage based upon a set regional standard of living and adjust it yearly for inflation

 @9GST74CDemocrat from New Jersey  answered…2yrs2Y

Yes and adjust it according to inflation, minimum wage should at least be somewhat survivable off of due to some circumstances in the U.S.

 @9GGBVJDSocialist  from Nevada  answered…2yrs2Y

No, the decision should be up to states as the required minimum wage differs greatly between states.

 @9FV4V35Democrat from California  answered…2yrs2Y

Yes, however, it should be based on the amount that the state is raising prices and according to inflation.

 @9FNTLCTDemocrat from Texas  answered…2yrs2Y

Different states have different standards of living minimum wage should be according to the state

 @9FMJBLGDemocratanswered…2yrs2Y

it needs to be a living wage and then it needs to adjust every year according to inflation

 @9FG5WZPDemocrat from Virginia  answered…2yrs2Y

Yes the minimum wage should allow someone to live their life without not having enough food or clothes

 @9FG5F6LDemocrat from Arkansas  answered…2yrs2Y

I think in all states the minimum wage should be the same the minimum wage should be $12 an hour

 @8XLR4JXDemocrat  from North Carolina  answered…2yrs2Y

Yes. The minimum wage should be made a living wage with a set standard depending on region and should be adjusted according to inflation

 @9FBLRJRDemocrat from Florida  answered…2yrs2Y

i feel like we should raise it and more enforce the jobs paying less than minimum to raise their pay

 @9DY7ZWLDemocrat from North Carolina  answered…2yrs2Y

Absolutely. The minimum wage should be appropriate for a set standard of living and should be adjusted according to inflation.

 @7PTCG38Democrat  from Wisconsin  answered…2yrs2Y

Yes, and make it a living wage that is tied to a yearly inflation adjustment

Yes, but the wage will be different relative to the cost of living in each state. In the end, it needs to be a living wage within the state one resides.

 @9DBNS57 from Arizona  answered…2yrs2Y

Yes, but only if there were a way to maintain and/or decrease inflation rates.

 @9DBJBP2Democrat from California  answered…2yrs2Y

 @9D64H2SDemocrat from Kansas  answered…2yrs2Y

 @8P5D824Democrat from Maryland  answered…5yrs5Y

Minimum wage should change gradually. The cost of living has increased. Families are living in poverty and living paycheck to paycheck. Even workers with experience are getting paid less than they deserve.

 @8GL7RZY from New York  answered…5yrs5Y

Yes, and make it a living wage but also adjust it every year according to inflation

 @9GFKZKKDemocrat from Nevada  answered…2yrs2Y

Yes, but have it be based on the company. If the company is a million dollar company than it should have minimum wage raised but if it is a small business no

 @9FPFNLFDemocrat from Texas  answered…2yrs2Y

No, but it should provide free education, training and childcare to minimum wage workers

 @9CLR7CLDemocrat from Utah  answered…2yrs2Y

The minimum wage should be left to the states. The reason why is that it ought to be 50 % of the median wage in each state. Since the cost of living and the "median wage" differs from state to state, it should be left to the states to decide the minimum wage for themselves.

 @9CJJTTGDemocrat from Maryland  answered…2yrs2Y

Should be raised gradually and according to inflation. It should not jump to 15$ an hour

 @9CJGRWNDemocrat from New Jersey  answered…2yrs2Y

The government should help pay for the people who are working minimum wage and have financial trouble

 @9C8QCJY from Alabama  answered…2yrs2Y

 @9C3BMV8Democrat from Florida  answered…2yrs2Y

 @9BXQYZBDemocrat from Texas  answered…2yrs2Y

There should be a federal minimum wage but it should be based on the cost of living of the area and not one static wage across the nation.

 @9BRTCDJDemocrat from California  answered…2yrs2Y

The minimum wage should vary by who is providing the work, A multibillion-dollar corporation should not have the same minimum wage as a mom-and-pop shop

 @9BLVV6Z from New York  answered…2yrs2Y

Increasing minimum wage can help people to get out of poverty and improve work enthic. However, if we increase minimum wage then it can cause the economy into inflation and a loss of jobs.

 @99XBPM2 from Connecticut  answered…2yrs2Y

Keep it low for minors and part time employees but raise it to living wages for full time employment

 @98ZYQHFWorking Family from Kentucky  answered…2yrs2Y

Sure, the minimum wage should be raised, but only a little bit. There are two main reasons for minimum wage, poor business owners that cannot afford to raise the wage, and rich business owners that found it cheaper to pay less. The minimum wage should be based on how many business locations, and how well the business is doing, this would even out the playing field because the smaller one-location business owners that cannot afford to raise wages wouldn't lose money needed to develop their businesses, while the richer, bigger, businesses would have to pay a wage amount based on business.

 @97S4955from Maine  answered…3yrs3Y

Raise to $12 at federal level. Any further increases to be made by the states

 @96Z7GSYDemocrat from Florida  answered…3yrs3Y

Yes, however, this isn't a long-term solution and an alternative must come after the raise to prevent a never-ending cycle of increasing minimum wage and prices.

 @96PBDMWIndependent from Tennessee  answered…3yrs3Y

 @96PB6FMProgressive from Iowa  answered…3yrs3Y

It should be increased to a living wage and reviewed every couple of years but very closely analyzed to stop the potential increases of prices in a never-ending cycle.

 @96MHZT4Democrat from Colorado  answered…3yrs3Y

 @96JLDCPDemocrat from California  answered…3yrs3Y

Based on local wages, workers should earn a living wage and adjust accordingly to inflation (annually)

 @96HWJT2Democrat from Virginia  answered…3yrs3Y

Instead, we should look at wages by state/district and increase the minimum wage accordingly per state.

 @96HNRQGDemocrat from California  answered…3yrs3Y

 @mflc318565 from California  answered…3yrs3Y

Yes but something similar to a maximum wage should also be enacted so that nobody can earn more than 10 million a year.

Yes but a maximum wage should also be enacted so that nobody can earn more than 10 million a year.

 @96CKGWSDemocrat from Michigan  answered…3yrs3Y

 @96BML7R from New Jersey  answered…3yrs3Y

 @969C8GJDemocrat from North Carolina  answered…3yrs3Y

minimum wage jobs are meant to be a intoductory job to the real world and there are a lot of jobs that are paying double minimum wage for no college jobs.
