No, this is an issue for states and local governments as the cost of living varies around the country

 @8SYMC86 from Pennsylvania  answered…4yrs4Y

 @9D7VRVM from Pennsylvania  answered…2yrs2Y

Yes, but it should be adjusted to inflation and stagnation as well as raising the wages current employees have.

 @B58YKJP from Pennsylvania  answered…2mos2MO

No, Raising the minimum wage will increase the poverty line and the market will determine the wage value. Disallow corruption, like Blackrock purchasing and reselling real estate which causes prices to skyrocket

 @B529SJP from Pennsylvania  answered…2mos2MO

Federal minimum wage, with diversion to the local governments based on cost of living in the area - but the federal government should have a minimum set they cannot fall beneath

 @9L4Z23BIndependent  from Pennsylvania  answered…3mos3MO

Federal minimum wage should be required to set the median cost of living for a two adult household with no children in each state

 @9L4Z23BIndependent  from Pennsylvania  answered…3mos3MO

Federal minimum wage should be set at the 40th percentile cost of living among the 50 states, and allow states to adjust it a needed

 @B47XNJ3Republican from Pennsylvania  answered…3mos3MO

I agree to disagree. People need money to support themselves, families, housing, etc. But if we raise the minimum wage then inflation will increase. Shrinkflation in products can also become a bigger problem if people are getting higher wages for their job(s).

 @B42CZ9L from Pennsylvania  answered…4mos4MO

No, I believe minimum wage jobs are meant for developing experience and teaching young people how to work. I also believe that raising the minimum wage can be a slippery slope that leads to increased prices and inflationary pressures.

 @B3L4GG5 from Pennsylvania  answered…4mos4MO

Yes, because minimum wage should be raised around 25 cents per year, and No, because I feel that a lot of citizens of the U.S. will start to complain and won't pay anything at all, and that will be really bad on the U.S.

 @B2PV52K from Pennsylvania  answered…5mos5MO

If the minimum wage is raised, all other prices will arise as well and will just eventually even out or actually be worse to raise the minimum wage.

 @B2HFNYQ from Pennsylvania  answered…6mos6MO

Yes , but slowly overtime. They should also have a wage difference between kids and adults making a living.

 @9L4Z23BIndependent  from Pennsylvania  answered…6mos6MO

No, end most wage, benefit, and most labor practices and instead strengthen self and collective bargaining

 @9ZS44CSIndependent from Pennsylvania  answered…7mos7MO

No. We need to work towards abolishing wage standards as these only cause a cycle of increases across the board and are only meant to be beginner jobs to garner experience, not supporting a family.

 @9YGQ2Z8 from Pennsylvania  answered…8mos8MO

i think it depends on the circumstance and certainly what job you are working, some jobs should have raised minimum wages compared to others.

 @9YBGYB6Independent  from Pennsylvania  answered…8mos8MO

Yes, but adjust it to modern day inflation and it should be reassessed every decade it should not be considered a "living wage" as it is for "minimum skillset."

 @9YBGYB6Independent  from Pennsylvania  answered…8mos8MO

Yes, minimum wage should be raised as a factor of adapting to inflation and adjusting to today's market. With that said, it should not be sustained at levels that would be a "livable wage" or "supporting a family" as predominately it was intended to develop experience and skillset. Many jobs today are paying above minimum wage and as a result we are seeing that in prices, which most Americans said they were OKAY with. Inflation is only have the factor in rising cost. Corporations are also offsetting wages increases from not paying below $10/hr. anymore.

 @9Y9GMVB from Pennsylvania  answered…8mos8MO

At minimum, make it a living wage where the pay will offset the cost of living as well as allow for individual bargaining.

 @9Y864HD from Pennsylvania  answered…8mos8MO

Wages should be based on performance. Fair enough to afford water, food and shelter at the bare minimum for a single individual.

 @9XYSVSSIndependent from Pennsylvania  answered…8mos8MO

The minimum wage should be enough so people do not have to work 2 jobs, but not to little that they have to low of buying power.

 @9XXL8Z9 from Pennsylvania  answered…8mos8MO

minimum wage isnt alot and sometimes hard to make a living out of so wage should go up depending on how many kids you have

 @9XTS6G9 from Pennsylvania  answered…8mos8MO

I think it should be raised to $12.00 an hour nationaly so that it doesn't hurt prices a ton but also enough to make sense for how much inflation has rised.

 @9XQMKK4Independent from Pennsylvania  answered…8mos8MO

Yes, but it should be increased in proportion to the profitability of an organization, so that larger corporations pay more but smaller businesses are not harmed by unaffordable wages.

 @9XNXL5F from Pennsylvania  answered…8mos8MO

Cancel the minimum wage and adjust it so that ceo and other top executive pay rates are capped at a ratio based off average pay of employees. Example, 150 to 1. So if they want extreme raises, they have to pull up their workers as well.

 @9XNLQFL from Pennsylvania  answered…8mos8MO

No, raising the minimum wage only further raises inflation. Focus on incentives to reduce the cost of living.

 @9XBDR3X from Pennsylvania  answered…8mos8MO

It shouldn't be allowed for companies to pay minimum wage or barely over for jobs that clearly aren't minimum wage jobs. Minimum wage should be increased to the point of it just being liveable.

 @9WYM7VMRepublican from Pennsylvania  answered…8mos8MO

Yes, I believe it should be raised from $7.25 an hour. However, I do not think it should be as high as $15 per hour.

 @9WXJ25ZNo Labels from Pennsylvania  answered…8mos8MO

Yes, but do not raise it where it effects cost of goods. Minimum wage jobs aren't meant to support a family.

 @9WSSSY3 from Pennsylvania  answered…8mos8MO

There should be something that indicates you need money to support a family. The wage should be determined by the individual's job and their needs.

 @9WPVDRC from Pennsylvania  answered…8mos8MO

Yes, but within reason. If raising too much, it will jeopardize businesses that can't afford to pay at this rate. It also could increase everything depending on what it's raised to.

 @9WMXJJL from Pennsylvania  answered…9mos9MO

There should be an adjustment for inflation, but if not done carefully and with regional variances the increases could incentivize employers to find ways to hire fewer workers.

 @9VTQGJZ from Pennsylvania  answered…9mos9MO

I am fine with the current federal minimum wage, especially given that most states have their own minimum wage requirements.

 @9VGMMFS from Pennsylvania  answered…9mos9MO

No, most minimum wage jobs have already been eliminated and are paid above minimum wage. Allow the market dictate the pay rates.

 @9VFFH2N from Pennsylvania  answered…9mos9MO

I think that the minimum wage amount is fine as it is. while it is not the best job, or income, to have for supporting a family, these type of jobs are in my opinion, supposed to be for amateurs and experience development.

 @9V6N9L2No Labels from Pennsylvania  answered…9mos9MO

No, but we should abolish the tip system. Workers should earn a minimum wage period, regardless of job, making employers and owners responsible for their fair share instead of once again, dumping the burden on the consumer.

 @9TLJKSD from Pennsylvania  answered…10mos10MO

Yes, and require every employee at companies to have the same earnings rate, and press criminal charges against violations or against megacorporations who downsize because of this

 @9TFWSPK from Pennsylvania  answered…10mos10MO

If they increase it would they have to print out more money if yes then no since the more money they print out will cause inflation.

 @9T3JBKD from Pennsylvania  answered…10mos10MO

It should be raised beyond just a 'living wage', you should be able to live at least somewhat comfortably.

 @9ST45CB from Pennsylvania  answered…10mos10MO

No we should lower it by 1 or 2 dollars. I know it sounds bad but inflation is at an all time high and we need to bring it down.

 @9SRGMCK from Pennsylvania  answered…10mos10MO

No, the issue is not necessarily the minimum wage, it's the price of everything else. Businesses and corporations continue to want more and more money, the root of the issue needs to be addressed, the cost of things needs to decrease across the board.

 @9SFT75C from Pennsylvania  answered…11mos11MO

No, in fact lower it by $2. I know it’s a lot but we need to get inflation under control immediately. This is a big crisis and we need to act fast.

 @9RHWH2RRepublican from Pennsylvania  answered…12mos12MO

No, let state and local governments control the minimum wage but let the federal government set a limit on how low the minimum wage can be.

 @9RF8YRLNo Labels from Pennsylvania  answered…12mos12MO

Too complicated, adjusting the minimum wage creates more inflation in cost of goods. Lowering inflation and provide affordable standards of living need to come first before taking this into account.

 @9RBX8R5Republican from Pennsylvania  answered…12mos12MO

No, minimum wage should remain same, if it rises higher kids/teens will have their jobs taken by low class adults

 @9R7Q95X from Pennsylvania  answered…12mos12MO

Yes, implement a plan to adjust according to inflation, and do not allow for a differential for tipped employees

 @9R29S4X from Pennsylvania  answered…12mos12MO

No, this is something that varies based on each state's cost of living, so it should be determined at a state level, with municipalities able to require a higher minimum

 @9PGQLCG from Pennsylvania  answered…1yr1Y

Yes, and do something about corporate & executive greed to ensure that prices of products aren't raised in retaliation

 @9NZG3HZRepublican from Pennsylvania  answered…1yr1Y

I think it should be raised based on inflation but that minimum wage jobs are still for experience not supporting a family

 @9N32BK8 from Pennsylvania  answered…1yr1Y

Yes but not to a flat federal wage. The minimum living wage should be commensurate with the cost of living in that area.

 @9MSBFY8Republican from Pennsylvania  answered…1yr1Y

Kind of due to higher taxes and bills and cost of living but this could be bad for jobs and massive layoffs might happen.

 @9MLGS34 from Pennsylvania  answered…1yr1Y

Money comes with hard work. I haven’t gotten paid minimum wage because I work to get more than that and work everyday manual labor

 @9M98KLC from Pennsylvania  answered…1yr1Y

Yes and no, they should be living wages but should probably have a cap to prevent it from increasing forever.

 @9LKZML7 from Pennsylvania  answered…1yr1Y

Yes, it should be adjusted for how many hours you work, how long you have been working for, and how hard you choose to work.

 @9L9RJDZCA Common Sense from Pennsylvania  answered…1yr1Y

Yes, but only if a percentage based salary cap for CEOs of large businesses (based on the lowest paid employee) is put in place that requires a portion of profit to be redistributed to the workers that helped create it.

 @9L9JK4KWrite-In from Pennsylvania  answered…1yr1Y

some states need to fix their minimum wage more than others. i think that workers should be able to pay the required amount of money to not die

 @9L8Y4LCRepublican from Pennsylvania  answered…1yr1Y

The minimum wage exists but does not at the same time. You can get hired at McDonald's for $12 an hour to start because nobody wants to work.

 @9L87CNK from Pennsylvania  answered…1yr1Y

it shouldnt be increased it only makes it hard on small business owners and not the big corporations it makes it easy for them to have a monopoly which cause to go out of control becomes a never ending cycle because small owners cant keep up at that point and we only have big corporations runing the world

 @9L2D9FK from Pennsylvania  answered…1yr1Y

It depends. Some are for experience, but some are for money that are struggling and can't get other jobs.

 @9KZJVN7 from Pennsylvania  answered…1yr1Y

Yes, but safeguards need to be implemented from allowing corporations from increasing prices and price gouging.

 @9KFZVYG from Pennsylvania  answered…1yr1Y

Yes. The countries minimum wage has been proven to not be enough to support a family. If we increased the minimum wage then we can bring a stop to homelessness, and people resorting to illegal ways of income.

 @9KBNYTF from Pennsylvania  answered…1yr1Y

I think people should be given a livable minimum wage when they start and as they grow from poisons or however long they've been there they pay should increase instead of paying some one new the same amount as you do now even if your in a higher of been there longer.

 @9K6B6FG from Pennsylvania  answered…1yr1Y

Shareholders get a limited profit margin, the average is currently around 11% across all industries. This will force companies making drastic amounts of profit year after year to reinvest the money back into their companies/employees or non-profits, etc. b corp standards should be enforced for any publicly traded company as well.

 @9JZFNCN from Pennsylvania  answered…1yr1Y

Yes but require every job to raise all pays accordingly to the recent raise. And no more than $12.00 an hour

 @9JP3CBV from Pennsylvania  answered…1yr1Y

Yes but only in extreme cases, as raising the minimum wage for all jobs will only cause prices to increase in a never-ending cycle

 @9HVYSRY from Pennsylvania  answered…1yr1Y

Yes, because as long as there are jobs that pay minimum wage, there will be people that need to work those jobs and need to live (i.e. who else will make your coffee or fast food?)

 @9HQ59M9 from Pennsylvania  answered…2yrs2Y

I would prefer finding a solution that raised people up out of that dead end wage and empower them to become professionals

 @9HPDVHNWomen’s Equality from Pennsylvania  answered…2yrs2Y

It depends on if it would raise taxes along with the minimum wage and if inflation would affect minimum wage too

 @9HNZZF5 from Pennsylvania  answered…2yrs2Y

Yes, we need to make it so someone can live off it, in case it is someone’s only option, and take more from rich.

 @9HNQDWPDemocrat from Pennsylvania  answered…2yrs2Y

No, but offer substantial tax cuts to companies that pay their employees living wages and provide them proper benefits and drastically increase taxes on companies that pay their employees below living wages and offer little to no benefits. Then use that tax money to invest in social welfare programs.

 @9H9NYBQ from Pennsylvania  answered…2yrs2Y

adjust acorrding to inflation however a busness owners cant afford to pay every one 15 dalors a hour and you shouldn't be able to earn a living wage of a basic 9-5 as a normal mcdonalds worker

 @9H8GPS5 from Pennsylvania  answered…2yrs2Y

The government should fix inflation so there wouldnt be a need for that also the value of the dollar would decrease

 Deletedanswered…2yrs2Y

Yes, but wages should be determined by a ratio between the lowest and highest earning positions at a company.

 @9H4XJXX from Pennsylvania  answered…2yrs2Y

Yes, but only to a smaller extent so as to not raise prices too much and create a never ending cycle of inflation

 @9H2T7SWPeace and Freedom from Pennsylvania  answered…2yrs2Y

I think we should, but unfortunately, companies and the economy would increase their prices, so their wouldn't be a difference in a financial 'upgrade'.

 @9H2JFV3 from Pennsylvania  answered…2yrs2Y

no, because that will then raise the prices of everything else in than people wanting it raised more.

 @9GXGW29 from Pennsylvania  answered…2yrs2Y

Yes, Adjust it due to inflation per year, but certain businesses should be exempt or get government funding to help compensate for the increased worker wages

 @9GQXNSB from Pennsylvania  answered…2yrs2Y

Yes, how are you going to expect someone to pay all of their taxes, support their family while they barley have enough money and then get evicted if they can't pay the large amount of rent.

 @9GJY2CX from Pennsylvania  answered…2yrs2Y

Yes but it should be in the power of each state to make it proportional to the economics of a region

 @9GGSVYCLibertarian from Pennsylvania  answered…2yrs2Y

Yes, but allow states and local governments to also make their own minimum wage requirements due to the cost of living.

 @9FQ7MDL from Pennsylvania  answered…2yrs2Y

 @9FLM84V from Pennsylvania  answered…2yrs2Y

Slightly, as to account for recent inflation. It should not move all the time.

 @9FJH28P from Pennsylvania  answered…2yrs2Y

 @9FHXFBR from Pennsylvania  answered…2yrs2Y

 @9FFY6NT from Pennsylvania  answered…2yrs2Y

Minimum wage should be raised overall but we should implement a minimum wage bracket based on employee size so that small business can continue to grow and redistribute corporate wealth

 @9FC2ZDM from Pennsylvania  answered…2yrs2Y

Set separate full time and part time minimum wages that raise with inflation.

 @9F9GMWW from Pennsylvania  answered…2yrs2Y

 @9F7P8MH from Pennsylvania  answered…2yrs2Y

 @84ZWD6LLibertarian  from Pennsylvania  answered…2yrs2Y

No, minimum wage should be set by states and localities due to the ranges of cost of living. The Federal Government should support economic policies that increase the amount of good paying jobs

 @9F3WBR9 from Pennsylvania  answered…2yrs2Y

Yes, but within reason. A person working at McDonald's, for example, should not be making more money than an emergency medical technician. There needs to be a proper balance.

 @9F2TTCSIndependent from Pennsylvania  answered…2yrs2Y

 @9DRYW3D from Pennsylvania  answered…2yrs2Y

 @9DRF77NDemocrat from Pennsylvania  answered…2yrs2Y

 @9DM4DZ4 from Pennsylvania  answered…2yrs2Y

Yes, make it a living wage, keyed to automatically adjust annually based on inflation.

 @9DHN8NFWorkers from Pennsylvania  answered…2yrs2Y

No, but workers should be paid in shares of the company they work for, in order to incentivize hard work and to reinvest in American workers.

 @9D69FVQ from Pennsylvania  answered…2yrs2Y

Yes, but it does not have to be a living wage and it should not be increased all the time. But right now it needs to match inflation better.

 @9D5Z7QZ from Pennsylvania  answered…2yrs2Y

 @9D4YM9Y from Pennsylvania  answered…2yrs2Y

No it creates too many people competing for the low end jobs which and causes unemployment. Get rid of minimum wage
