Enough to keep up with inflation, inflation including food costs by the average increase in that year. They are not meant to raise a family, and there needs to be incentives financed by the government to train minimum wage workers who have been there for a while to do jobs that are more economically helpful. They’d add value to the economy and they’d improve their economic standing through being enabled.

 @9VKNPNKProgressive from Oregon  answered…9mos9MO

No, however it should be regulated by the federal government based on the cost of living in each individual state

 @9VFS3Y4Progressive from California  answered…9mos9MO

Yes but find out how to stop increasing prices in a never-ending cycle and make it an achievable living wage

 @9S84FJKProgressive from Florida  answered…11mos11MO

Yes, make it a living wage, while further regulating prices and cost for standard living needs and goods to combat any attempts of price hiking.

 @9MBH6JKProgressive from Missouri  answered…1yr1Y

Yes, and all jobs should have minimum wage factored into their pay, so when it is adjusted it affects everyone, and it should be adjusted yearly according to inflation.

 @9M2G3HCProgressive from Ohio  answered…1yr1Y

It needs to be increased but it needs to be done slowly and the focus should be more on lowering inflation than raising the minimum wage.

 @9LSSVXRProgressive from Tennessee  answered…1yr1Y

Yes and put limits on what corporations can pay their highest earners. The CEO’s salary should only be allowed to be a certain percentage higher than its lowest paid employee

 @9JS3HQFProgressivefrom Maine  answered…1yr1Y

Minumum wage should be abolished only if strong labor unions can negotiate fair wages for the workers.

 @84TSRZ7Progressive  from Texas  answered…1yr1Y

The federal minimum wage should be abolished and states should create their own minimum wages based on the cost of living in their state.

 @9HRGWZQProgressive from Vermont  answered…2yrs2Y

Yes, make it a living wage, and make education about personal finances part of every child’s education so they can understand and begin establishing good credit and savings early

 @9FQ3HKPProgressive from California  answered…2yrs2Y

Minimum wage should not have to be changed, the government should work to decrease inflation

 @9FKQMS6Progressive from California  answered…2yrs2Y

 @9FJ9H35Progressive from California  answered…2yrs2Y

 @9FFK6MWProgressive from California  answered…2yrs2Y

 @9D4M4Y2Progressive from Michigan  answered…2yrs2Y

 @8NXSDN9Progressive from Vermont  answered…5yrs5Y

Minimum wage is not the issue; students debts and the cost of living should be reduced

 @9VGLRLKProgressive from Michigan  answered…9mos9MO

Yes, because while minimum wage jobs are meant to develop experience some people end up raising a family with that job because they can't get anything else

 @9B8NV9XProgressive from Washington D.C.  answered…2yrs2Y

Yes, it should be a living wage until unions are strong enough that minimum wage laws are unnecessary

 @99S2ZR3Progressive from Michigan  answered…2yrs2Y

Yes, but it must be slight every year, similar to how european countries deal with it

 @96PB6FMProgressive from Iowa  answered…3yrs3Y

It should be increased to a living wage and reviewed every couple of years but very closely analyzed to stop the potential increases of prices in a never-ending cycle.

 @96P5TNHProgressive from Florida  answered…3yrs3Y

 @96LT6ZDProgressive from California  answered…3yrs3Y

No I believe the minimum wage should stay same, the reason I believe this is because it doesn't really matter because that will cause inflation for everything if its raised, and that's basically a circle that just go's on because that pay raise will just turn into minimum wage, and plus some people want too much money for basic no skilled jobs.

 @96JRWRKProgressive from Texas  answered…3yrs3Y

Although we should raise the minimum wage, as it isn't a living wage for absolutely anyone, how much it should be raised should vary from state to state, not federally.

 @96H3V52Progressive from Georgia  answered…3yrs3Y

 @969W4MRProgressive from California  answered…3yrs3Y

Have it so that people who work for minimum wage will be able to live well so that they do not lose their house living and afford to pay taxes.

 @95RSRKXProgressive from Hawaii  answered…3yrs3Y

Minimum wage increasing or decreasing does not fix the rampant supply shortages of basic human needs causing the cost of living to skyrocket. Stop making housing an investment asset.

 @95HL2MMProgressive from Texas  answered…3yrs3Y

No, if the minimum wage is raised, it would not only make prices go higher, but jobs demand too (more money you'll win, the more you want to work and the work quality would decrease. People who win a minimum wage, like it says above, are meant to develop experience and some people won't care about the experience but the money, since it's more, therefore, more jobs will be requested and companies cannot hire everybody applying, jobs demand will increase, poverty will increase since not everyone will be able to get a job and companies won't have enough money to raise themselves.

 @959J3B8Progressive from Georgia  answered…3yrs3Y

Yes, but slowly. It needs to increase, but a drastic change would throw off the economy.

 @959MG3FProgressive from West Virginia  answered…3yrs3Y

 @93HS6X4Progressive from Arkansas  answered…3yrs3Y

no, but adjust prices to be able to afford more while having a minimum wage job.

 @93GKNJ5Progressive from Texas  answered…3yrs3Y

This question is too difficult because of the Union busting and unfair advantages cooperations have, I think doing away with cooperate welfare and and unfair advantages first is priority then yes fo away with federal wage input.

 @92NZTFHProgressive from South Carolina  answered…3yrs3Y

Yes, and make it a living wage that is continuously adjusted for inflation.

 @92HZSJKProgressive from Georgia  answered…3yrs3Y

Minimum wage should be focused on by skilled economists and that they should study the program from all aspects to see if increasing the minimum wage will help or ruin the economy.

 @92G2CRVProgressive from South Carolina  answered…3yrs3Y

It can be raised to an extent, I totally think that it should be raised. It should not be raised by a lot, though. There are many damaging effects of a high minimum wage, such as inflation and also the financial struggle it will put small businesses in.

 @8Z55PVNProgressive from Michigan  answered…3yrs3Y

There should be no minimum wage. Wages should be based of off degree of difficulty and should increase after certain hours worked in a week or day.

 @8YLTNFBProgressive from California  answered…3yrs3Y

The issue is not the minimum wage but wealth hoarding we should be focusing on a maximum wage instead.

 @8Y7K7DHProgressive from Ohio  answered…4yrs4Y

No, each state should be responsible for adjusting the minimum wage for living conditions in their state, California and West Virginia shouldn't have the same wage.

 @8XXPWMBProgressive from Minnesota  answered…4yrs4Y

No, but businesses should be required to provide some forms of financial coverage.

 @8XQR5FXProgressive from Idaho  answered…4yrs4Y

No, the problem is not minimum wage, rather the lack of a safety net for the citizens. Raising the minimum wage is hard on local businesses. Instead, we should have a basic income or negative income tax.

 @8XQLMWYProgressive from North Carolina  answered…4yrs4Y

 @8XFX7RJProgressive from Pennsylvania  answered…4yrs4Y

 @8X92GPZProgressive from Missouri  answered…4yrs4Y

Minimum wage should be an expense in proportion to the companies earnings.

 @8X8GNKJProgressive from Missouri  answered…4yrs4Y

No, instead a system of universal basic income, starting at $1,000 a month and adjusted with inflation thereafter, should replace the minimum wage, allowing companies flexibility in compensating many low level positions and offering alternative benefits, such as better working conditions or alternative compensation, while allowing workers the freedom to take off work briefly to consider new jobs in a more thorough fashion or seek education for a better job.

 @8X75J2JProgressive from Missouri  answered…4yrs4Y

 @8WQL5HHProgressive from Wyoming  answered…4yrs4Y

Increase the wage, without inflation by preventing companies from increasing costs of goods when minimum wage increases.

 @8WF3YZWProgressive from North Carolina  answered…4yrs4Y

 @8WDSV33Progressive from Florida  answered…4yrs4Y

Depends on the work field, if working at low-income jobs like mc Donalds should be increased by 1.2%. While those in the potion of power like politics should be paid across us 20 dollars per hour.

 @8VZ89MJProgressive from Georgia  answered…4yrs4Y

Yes, but it should be based on cost of living, vary from location to location, and adjust for inflation.

 @8VV29ZPProgressive from California  answered…4yrs4Y

The Federal minimum wage should be adjusted based on the local living wage rather than making it universal throughout the US. It should also be adjusted every year according to inflation and age group.

 @8VD8HVPProgressive from Utah  answered…4yrs4Y

Require all states to develop a minimum wage that is liveable and adjusted with inflation.

 @8VD55FBProgressive from Oregon  answered…4yrs4Y

Set it according to demographic of city/county, cost of average living and livable wage in said county/city

 @8V6G294Progressive from Georgia  answered…4yrs4Y

This should be based on the average rate of living in each city or maybe even county.

 @8TXKFQ2Progressive from Illinois  answered…4yrs4Y

All states should be required to establish a living wage for each state, since a living wage is different in each state.

 @8TPN8PZProgressive from Indiana  answered…4yrs4Y

The government should not involve itself with private businesses, instead the workers of those businesses should unionize for better pay, but overall, yes I fully support workers getting paid more for their labor.

 @8TBGW8LProgressive from Washington  answered…4yrs4Y

 @8T8V4DHProgressive from Tennessee  answered…4yrs4Y

Yes, but create a formula where it is set to be a living wage based on the geographic area.

 @8SYRM87Progressive from Texas  answered…4yrs4Y

The government should stop printing money entirely. Money is worthless, live off of the land.

 @8SWZQ3CProgressive from Texas  answered…4yrs4Y

increase a little bit, but we should focus on taxing the rich more, so lower income people can pay less taxes so they have a little bit more to live off of

 @8SFQT8CProgressive from Michigan  answered…4yrs4Y

I think something should be done to hold each state accountable for adjusting their states minimum wage accordingly a federal minimum wage push seems less efficient and effective

 @8S4Q2JZProgressive from Missouri  answered…4yrs4Y

 @8S36H6GProgressive from New York  answered…4yrs4Y

 @8RZFG5RProgressive from Texas  answered…4yrs4Y

 @8RXR72FProgressive from North Carolina  answered…4yrs4Y

Yes, and adjust according to both inflation and by age group (as in teens get lower wages than adults).

 @8RX55F9Progressive from Texas  answered…4yrs4Y

Yes, but they should be adjusted depending on the state and its cost of living there

 @8RDYL6QProgressive from Pennsylvania  answered…4yrs4Y

 @8R8SCP8Progressive from Kansas  answered…4yrs4Y

yes, but adjust every wage so it those that are highly trained but low wages can be paid accordingly as well.

 @8R83DPKProgressive from New Mexico  answered…4yrs4Y

Yes, and make it a living wage adjusted every half year based on median wage and productivity increases.

 @8QNJ3SXProgressive from Arizona  answered…4yrs4Y

 @8Q9FBMVProgressive from Texas  answered…4yrs4Y

Some ares will benefit from 15$ minimum wage while majority of which would be negativley affected

 @8PKTSLWProgressive from California  answered…5yrs5Y

Lower taxes so that minimum wage is livable for those that can't work in higher paying jobs.

 @8PGZGT4Progressive from Illinois  answered…5yrs5Y

 @8NT7HQ4Progressive from Utah  answered…5yrs5Y

Yes, and begin giving low-income and unemployed Americans universal basic income

 @devoe1998Progressive from Indiana  answered…5yrs5Y

yes, and don't allow prices to increase with it, as it defeats the purpose and our minimum wage has remained stagnant despite inflation.

 @8MNVWDSProgressive from Pennsylvania  answered…5yrs5Y

yes, because it hasn´t gone up in so long for average workers and people that work in companys that will pay more dont even have a minimum wage as far as I know.

 @8MJFX7SProgressive from Pennsylvania  answered…5yrs5Y

Yes, but at a set small rate over many months and provide a living wage for people 21 or older or emancipated teens.

 @8M74YJZProgressive from Colorado  answered…5yrs5Y

 @8M52KXLProgressive from Michigan  answered…5yrs5Y

Yes, but adjust the minimum wage annually according to data on inflation so that the minimum wage can keep up with inflation as necessary.

 @8LZYGLHProgressive from California  answered…5yrs5Y

This will affect small business I think when it comes to huge corporate companies they can afford to pay their employees

 @8LJJ323Progressive from Alabama  answered…5yrs5Y

The minimum wage should be made a living wage with the consideration of all that is considered 'required' for living today. It should be adjusted for inflation without causing inflation in prices.
Otherwise basic necessities should be made cheaper while a minimum wage is too low to provide said basic needs.

 @8KVHPZBProgressive from California  answered…5yrs5Y

I believe that we should reclassify what a minimum wage Job is so that more skilled jobs are payed more as they require more skill, and the minimum wage job should have a flat rate and not differ by age group as anyone can be employed for a minimum wage job, however if they have worked at said job then they should be paid more as they have more experience in said job

 @8KQJYTGProgressive from Montana  answered…5yrs5Y
