A new poll shows Boston Mayor Michelle Wu maintaining a significant lead over her main challenger, Josh Kraft, as the 2025 mayoral race approaches.
Despite her strong position, pollsters note that Wu faces some vulnerabilities on local issues that could become pressure points during the campaign. Josh Kraft, son of Patriots owner Robert Kraft, has a solid base of support but needs to broaden his appeal to close the gap. The poll, conducted by Saint Anselm College, highlights Wu's continued popularity but suggests the race could tighten if local concerns gain traction.
Both candidates are expected to intensify their campaigns as Election Day nears.

Great to see Michelle Wu holding a strong lead—she’s done a lot for Boston and really seems to connect with everyday people. Of course, no one’s perfect, and I hope she listens to feedback and addresses those local issues head-on. Kraft has name recognition, but Boston deserves more than just another wealthy legacy candidate. If Wu keeps focusing on progressive policies and transparency, I think she’ll keep Boston moving in the right direction.

It’s no surprise Wu’s leading in liberal Boston, but maybe voters will wake up to how her progressive policies are hurting the city as the campaign heats up.
It looks like Wu has the edge for now, but I hope both candidates actually address the real issues facing Bostonians instead of just relying on their popularity or family names.

No surprise that Boston voters are sticking with Wu, but I doubt either candidate will actually shrink government or cut back the city’s endless regulations. It’d be nice if somebody in this race talked about getting City Hall out of people’s lives instead of just pandering with more programs. Doesn’t matter if it’s Wu or Kraft—Boston needs more freedom, not more politicians handing out favors.

Wu’s ahead, but let’s hope whoever wins focuses on policies that actually promote economic growth and let the private sector do its thing—Boston could use more of that.

Glad to see Mayor Wu holding a strong lead—she’s been pushing for real progressive change in Boston, but I hope she stays focused on issues like housing and public transit that really matter to everyday people.
