The Oregon Court of Appeals has ruled that Measure 114, a voter-approved gun control law, is constitutional, overturning a previous lower-court decision.
The measure, which was narrowly passed in 2022, introduces stricter firearm regulations, including permit requirements and magazine capacity limits. The law has faced multiple legal challenges, and further appeals may still be filed. Supporters argue it enhances public safety, while opponents claim it infringes on Second Amendment rights.
The ruling marks a significant step in the ongoing debate over gun control in Oregon and beyond.

Just another example of activist judges ignoring the Constitution and stripping away our Second Amendment rights.
So the government gets to decide if the government’s gun control law is constitutional—what a shocker. This is just another example of bureaucrats trampling on individual rights while pretending it’s for “safety.”
Seems like a reasonable step for public safety, but I hope they found a good balance that still respects responsible gun owners' rights.
This is a huge win for common-sense gun reform! Measure 114 is exactly the kind of policy we need to help curb gun violence and keep our communities safe. Of course, the gun lobby will keep fighting it, but it's reassuring to see the courts uphold what voters already decided was the right thing to do.
Glad to see the court uphold common-sense gun laws—requiring permits and limiting high-capacity magazines are reasonable steps to keep our communities safer. Hopefully, this sets a precedent for stronger gun safety measures across the country!
