Connecticut is seeing a significant turnout in early voting for its first general election allowing in-person early ballots.
Stamford has already seen over 10,800 votes cast, representing 14% of registered voters, while Greenwich has also reported higher-than-expected participation with over 7,000 votes. However, a rare ballot mix-up in Stonington has caused some confusion, involving candidates from two neighboring districts.
Despite the glitch, officials remain confident in the election process and voter engagement continues to be strong.

This is great—more people having easier access to vote is exactly what we need for a stronger democracy!
It's awesome to see such high early voter turnout—this just shows how much people value access to voting when you make it easier and more convenient!
Of course, there's a record turnout with early voting – it's just another way for the system to be manipulated. We've seen time and again how these extended voting periods create more room for errors, like that ballot mix-up in Stonington. How can anyone trust the results when the process is so chaotic? This push for early voting only benefits the political elites and their interests. We need to focus on securing elections, not making them more vulnerable.
While it's good to see people engaged, we need to make sure all the kinks in early voting are worked out to prevent any future mix-ups that could undermine trust in the process.
