Absolutely none, we should not teach children religion in school

 @9KSMRZH from Louisiana  disagreed…1yr1Y

students should be given knowledge about each religion so they can choose which religion they want to be. not based off of family or friends religion

 @9KSMDZM from Michigan  agreed…1yr1Y

We should teach about different religions as it is integral to understanding world history. It shouldn’t be preached.

 @9KHDMY3 from Wisconsin  answered…1yr1Y

I do not think religion should have any kind of role in education.

 @9KJ98D8 from Washington  disagreed…1yr1Y

The role of religion in public school should be delegated to only talking about how different religions have effected the us and world in private religious schools and institutions I believe they should be allowed to have more in depth conversations

 @9KK9VQ4 from North Carolina  answered…1yr1Y

It shouldn't play any role in education. There are many different religions, as such it is impossible to teach anything with it being 100% fact in all of them. I believe in religious freedom going both ways, you should be allowed to believe what you like, but to also not believe. One should choose their beliefs, not have ot forced down their throats until they are old enough to look at life through a different lense.

 @9KMBX7R from Virginia  agreed…1yr1Y

If you make a child beliefs the exact same as everyone else you have no diversity in anything except for race

 @9KP3Y77 from Tennessee  answered…1yr1Y

A lot because then a person can choose for themselves what they believe in & not solely on what they grew up on.

 @9KTJHW2 from Pennsylvania  disagreed…1yr1Y

Except for private education, public education should set the standard for religious tolerance. I see it a lot in today’s society that individuals lack tolerance for another individual’s beliefs or faith. Teaching children at a early age and promoting religious tolerance will benefit society.

 @8S2P94K  from Illinois  answered…1yr1Y

In public education, none, as the separation of church is clearly stated in the constitution.

 Deletedagreed…1yr1Y

As stated in the answer, there should be a seperation between church and state. Public institutions belong to the state therefore religion should not dictate what happens in public education.

 @9KJJWBFWomen’s Equality from North Carolina  answered…1yr1Y

Education and religion should be kept separated except for learning the history and facts about all kinds of religion. Religion is a choice Education is required.

 @9KJLP6M from California  agreed…1yr1Y

Religion should be a choice made by the individual, after they have learned the basics of each and explored how their own values align.

 @9KHS8T9 from Missouri  answered…1yr1Y

i feel students should be able to choose if they learn about religion

 @9KLBB5S from California  disagreed…1yr1Y

If you’re going to teach history, teach history, including religion. I don’t think any particular religion should be proselytized. I think a brief history of different religions could be valuable though.

 @9KQZ3FJ from Washington  answered…1yr1Y

I think religion and education need to stay out of the public school system.

 @9KRF3SK from California  answered…1yr1Y

I would want people to have their own religion as long as its not like dangerous

 @9KN8JJ3Communist from Kansas  answered…1yr1Y

No, unless you want biology classes to teach that if you have your cattle mate in front of a striped stick they will give birth to a striped calf

 @9KPT78Z from Pennsylvania  answered…1yr1Y

I think that religion should be taught only in instances where there is no intention of converting students to that religion. It is a part of our world and it is important to learn about but it it has no place in schools when the focus is conversion.

Religion should not play a role because we should stick to things we know are real plus I know talking about religion might make non religious kids feel uncomfortable

 @9KKLPL9Democrat from Washington  answered…1yr1Y

No religion should not be taught in our educational system outside of the boundaries of history.

 @9KHPN83 from Minnesota  answered…1yr1Y

It should play a minor role unless parents wish to enroll their kids within a school of religion

 @9KS3B8R from Maine  answered…1yr1Y

None, except in private schools that are explicitly religious, as I'm a firm believer in separation of church and state.

I think the basic tenants of religion should be able to be taught. Not indoctrination, but simply education. This means teaching about all religions, Judaism, Christianity, Islam, Buddhism, etc. It should not be allowed to be a means of discrimination.

  @RaxynusDemocrat from Washington  answered…1yr1Y

As long as the religious education stays in a theology format and not as a “how the government should run” then it should be fine. When it goes into trying to become part of laws and government dealings, then the separation of church and state has to be considered for a response.

 @9KNZSPWDemocrat from California  answered…1yr1Y

Religion should no play in education outside of history courses at all (ONLY FOR HISTORY).

 @9KDQX3Y from Colorado  answered…1yr1Y

Religion should not be forced upon people, but the education system should be respectful towards a student’s religion
