Former President and 2024 Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump has announced his intention to nominate former Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi as the next Attorney General of the United States, should he reclaim the presidency in the upcoming election.
Bondi, a prominent figure in Republican politics, served as Florida's Attorney General from 2011 to 2019. She gained national attention for her legal battles on issues such as health care reform, consumer protection, and opioid abuse litigation. Known for her steadfast support of Trump during his presidency, Bondi also served as a key adviser during his first impeachment trial, where she defended his administration against accusations of abuse of power.
In a statement released by his campaign, Trump praised Bondi’s “unwavering commitment to justice” and her “track record of standing up for everyday Americans against the abuses of Washington’s elites.”
“Pam Bondi has been a fearless advocate for the people, and she embodies the principles of fairness, accountability, and the rule of law that are sorely needed to restore trust in our justice system,” Trump said. “She is the right person to lead the Department of Justice into a new era of integrity and excellence.”
While Bondi’s nomination has been met with applause from conservative circles, it has also reignited criticism from Democrats and ethics watchdogs. Her acceptance of a $25,000 donation from the Trump Foundation in 2013, which coincided with her decision not to pursue an investigation into Trump University, has drawn scrutiny in the past and resurfaced following the announcement.
Democratic leaders have already voiced opposition, questioning Bondi’s ability to lead the Department of Justice independently. Senator Amy Klobuchar (D-MN) called the nomination “a political power play” and urged a focus on “restoring integrity, not entrenching partisanship.”

This is basically as good as Gaetz. I’m satisfied.
@9ZQVHZZ3wks3W
Gaetz made a mistake that he knew was going to cause the transfer of power problems and likely would have done the same with Trump/R’s having control of the HoR and Senate, he doesn’t want to ruffle any feathers. I think Bondi will be a great AG and I wish MG the best, hopefully he can get this situation sorted and there’s a reason he hasn’t been indicted, so we’ll see.
Central Casting! They can’t vote against a woman AG!!
The left is now going to be begging to get Matt Gates back in the running for that position, lol! -and we thought Gates was a big FU.
@ClamJasmineRepublican3wks3W
I am not sure how I feel about this.
@BatCharlotteRepublican3wks3W
Why? She is Maga and she worked with him his first term. She no non sense and has over 20 years experience.
No made up baggage, and if democrats attack her you can call them out for hating women.
@9ZRQWL82wks2W
Loyalty is all that matters in his cabinet.
@73N4VCJConstitution3wks3W
Well, we’re about to have the hottest AG in American history. Pam Bondi is a four-alarm fire.

Judges should be appointed solely on their ability to accurately interpret the law based on how it was written.

Something tells me corporate lobbyist Pam Bondi will not be considered as "controversial" as the previous Attorney General nominee. She joins chief-of-staff Susie Wiles, a fellow corporate lobbyist, and Transportation Secretary nominee Sean Duffy, a fellow corporate lobbyist
Dems won't be able to complain like they were going to do vs a possible AG Gaetz, saying that he was being unfair towards them. I like him as a "disrupter" type, but it would have looked bad if he had started prosecuting political enemies. She will give a much better "Fair Justice" type of appearance, I think. As the Fox news slogan used to say, she will appear "Fair and balanced"
Lobbying is LEGAL as long as you register. Something that Both Joe and Hunter Biden NEVER did.
Pam Bondi, Trump's new pick for Attorney General, was a registered foreign lobbyist on behalf of Qatar. She received $115,000 a month for her undoubtedly exceptional lobbying services

This sucks. The only thing I really remember about Pam Bondi is that she did a huge crackdown on Rx meds which left a ton of Floridians without pain meds so of course many turned to street drugs. I feel like she had several questionable ethics violations regarding her funding too

We need to know who is making decisions for us and how that affects us
