YES YES YES
its not fair for trans people to be denied to gender affirming care b/c their family is transphobic
its happened to me and its terrible
@FederalistBenny6mos6MO
How old are you?
why do you care?
@FederalistBenny6mos6MO
Throughout history, teenagers have struggled with self esteem and body dysmorphia. To me, we currently seem to be in a social trend where transgenderism has replaced previous self harm coping strategies like bulimia, suicide, overeating, cutting, tattoos, drugs, etc.
Im willing to be wrong on this, and I guess society won't really know until 20-30yrs from now, because all coping strategies are front loaded to feel better now, and push out the long term negative consequences to the future.
Personally, I think that someone who is over 25yrs old doesn't fit into this risk profile, and… Read more
Your point is a valid one, however things like divorce rate are much higher than the rate of people who regret transitioning. Being trans has not replaced the coping methods you mentioned, in fact those are (unhealthy) coping mechanisms often used for gender dysphoria.
Gender Dysphoria is a disorder not a coping mechanism, and gender affirming treatments are the cure. I think it should be treated like other disorders and that people under the age of 18 should be able to receive treatment for it. If a teen has depression they can and often are put on anti-depressants, which have been proven… Read more

Wow, how selfish and entitled of you to think that just because you had a bad experience, that means all people under 18 should have access to dangerous surgery. You clearly don't understand the potential consequences and risks that come with these procedures and how they can negatively impact someone's life. Stop whining and learn to deal with your problems like an adult instead of expecting to be handed everything on a silver platter .and stop screaming its not fair like a little baby :)

you must be absolutely moronic to believe that is morally right too allow a minor to make a life altering change with out parental consent. Further more for a parent to consent to this "gender change" surgery they should be charged with negligence and child endangerment, on the basis that it is an irreversible change that they are likely to regret as they mature.

Honestly based. Trans people who start young are way more likely to "pass", integrating into society and living normal lives. I know one guy who told me he was born a girl, but bought testosterone from the black market when he was like 15. His methods were uh, odd, but he looks indistinguishable from your average Joe now. Meanwhile, my parents have a friend who decided they were a woman at 35 and ended up losing their kids in a divorce, and now looks like a freak, even after hormones and surgery. I'm sure their life is lonely and miserable. I'd argue it should be easier for minors and harder for adults.

Definitely, I am 13 and I have a friend the same age who is a transgender boy who started taking medication illegally at a very young age and no one has come up to him and asked him if he is a girl. He looks exactly like a biological boy and he is clearly much happier because of it dogging the extreme mental distress many of my other friend felt coping with gender disforia during adolescence.
