Yes. Certain teachers who have went through gun safety courses and are licensed should be able to carry in school.

 @96CGFZ9 from Indiana  answered…3yrs3Y

Yes, but teachers who choose to carry should be required to complete specific training yearly as well as meeting with the schools psychologist.

No, hire professionally trained guards or, ex-military or ex-police officers instead as that would decrease the risk of accidental shootings.

 @95FZYRF from Missouri  answered…3yrs3Y

 @94BZ6YXRepublican from Nevada  answered…3yrs3Y

Yes, but ensure complete safety of the weapon and complete training of the weapon

 @93MZ2YX from Kansas  answered…3yrs3Y

Stop providing money to countries like Ukraine and provide better safety measure and trained guards to all public schools!

 @92MNTV4Independent from Ohio  answered…3yrs3Y

Yes, but only with adequate training --- even in constitutional carry states

 @92FXRLZ from North Carolina  answered…3yrs3Y

Yes ,after they go through the correct training and rules of having a handgun in school grounds

 @8ZTPK62 from Texas  answered…3yrs3Y

I think only a selective amount of teachers should ever have the possibility of having a weapon in their room. The school should have armed security. However, if a school can not afford security this is a situation where the school and the local community should have to decide.

 @8ZR923P from Michigan  answered…3yrs3Y

 @8ZDB257 from New Jersey  answered…3yrs3Y

Yes, but it should be voluntary, and the teacher would need to be training to use it and when.

 @8ZBQYQD from North Carolina  answered…3yrs3Y

 @8Z277KXRepublican from Utah  answered…3yrs3Y

 @8YX69WG from Louisiana  answered…3yrs3Y

Yes, if a teacher is properly trained and certified in concealed carry then it should be done.

 @8YQ7QFN from Texas  answered…3yrs3Y

 @8YNPV5Q from Missouri  answered…3yrs3Y

 @8YH4NV5 from Wisconsin  answered…3yrs3Y

I think that teachers who have a clean background and are comfortable to have a gun should be able to have one.

 @8Y74LSJ from Missouri  answered…3yrs3Y

yes but only with the proper background check and proper gun safety courses

 @8Y5KDZK from Minnesota  answered…3yrs3Y

Yes, but require them to attend gun safety classes if they haven’t already

 @8Y4VRYFfrom New York  answered…3yrs3Y

 @8XXNMBJ from Nebraska  answered…3yrs3Y

It should be left up to the teacher on whether or not they want to carry a weapon.

 @8XWXMGG from Alabama  answered…3yrs3Y

No, schools should be provided at least one or two officers to be stationed at the school

 @8XSYV8N from Kentucky  answered…3yrs3Y

If said teachers have some sort of experience with a firearm, such as a concealed carry permit

 @8XRM2S7Republican from Texas  answered…3yrs3Y

 @8XRCPJR from Indiana  answered…3yrs3Y

Each district or state should be free to create their own legislation on this issue

 @8XLP2XK from Iowa  answered…3yrs3Y

 @8WYBYHD from Pennsylvania  answered…4yrs4Y

 @8WXRCGJ from Missouri  answered…4yrs4Y

Yes, but only those with military background and/or extensive firearm training with routine mental fitness checks.

 @8WSZCZ6 from Pennsylvania  answered…4yrs4Y

Yes, I believe teachers should be allowed to carry guns with them in case of emergency. Some teachers don't always have the student’s best interests in mind though. So, I believe in order to keep the students and the other teachers safe the teacher carrying the gun should go to a therapist every or every other week to show their mentally stable to carry a gun. Also, they should take anger management And a safety gun course before carrying a gun with them into schools and classrooms.

 @8WS262P from Iowa  answered…4yrs4Y

Yes, but teachers should be trained. Only certain teachers who can pass certain courses, maybe even POST, should be allowed to arm or if they have enhanced carry concealed.

 @8WQT8N7Republican from Texas  answered…4yrs4Y

People with training in gun safety and military experience (honorably discharge) should be employed to become security guards with their experience in the military.

 @8WPP5YR from Iowa  answered…4yrs4Y

 @8WNH6DK from Tennessee  answered…4yrs4Y

Yes, but only if they are legally permitted to and if they are trained to carry in a school environment.

 @8WM67RMConstitution from Washington  answered…4yrs4Y

 @8WKR3G3American from Ohio  answered…4yrs4Y

 @8WK28QB from Florida  answered…4yrs4Y

I feel as if the teachers re going to given guns no one should know except the teacher themselves and should only be used when there is an intruder in the classroom or trying to enter the classroom.

 @8WJBRTZ from California  answered…4yrs4Y

I don't think all teachers should have one, rather there should be a gun on school grounds, locked in the office.

 @8WCBGNT from Florida  answered…4yrs4Y

Teachers armed with a gun should have a psychological test done and be given extensive training

 @8W7BDFVRepublican from Oklahoma  answered…4yrs4Y

I believe there should be extensive training and some teachers should be allowed to carry as long as they are locked away

 @8W3FP8V from Ohio  answered…4yrs4Y

Yes, but psychological tests and background checks must be properly given.

 @8VYZPXV from Virginia  answered…4yrs4Y

Really depends on the teacher, I believe there should be some kind of course to get some kind of certification to allow them to.

 @8VPSPCQRepublican from Mississippi  answered…4yrs4Y

There should be multiple police officers at each school and teachers with complex background checks should be allowed to conceal carry.

 @8VG3X7D from California  answered…4yrs4Y

 @8V9N9ZG from Indiana  answered…4yrs4Y

 @8V8TQG4Republican from California  answered…4yrs4Y

yes with proper background checks and thorough investigations to ensure they would not be used for anything other than a life or death situation

 @8V4F3JR from California  answered…4yrs4Y

Yes, and the ones who want to carry sjouke have to go through training and safety courses

 @8V39K9C from Utah  answered…4yrs4Y

 @8TT2RN5 from Pennsylvania  answered…4yrs4Y

 @8TPX9FY from Minnesota  answered…4yrs4Y

No but make sure the school has at least one or two school resource officers

 @8TMQCNCRepublican from West Virginia  answered…4yrs4Y

Yes but only after the teacher or the school staff member in question has been background checked by the FBI and State Police in the resident state. Subsequently thoroughly trained in the safe use of their firearm and proven their marksmanship to a licensed or certified firearms instructor. They must be taught when and how to use their firearm and how to properly maintain it. Additionally, the local law enforcement agency shall issue to the individual(s) in training some form of wearable identification so they will not be mistaken for an active shooter.

 @8TMQCNCRepublican from West Virginia  answered…4yrs4Y

Yes, but only after receiving rigorous training on how and when to use their weapon and how to properly maintain their weapon. An Armed teacher should if the occasion arrives wear something that will notify the police that he or she is a white hat and not a gunner on the loose.

 @8TFPNDF from Nevada  answered…4yrs4Y

 @8TF4X7T from Kansas  answered…4yrs4Y

Teachers should be given the opportunity but asked to go to a firearm safety class at least once a year

 @8SYCZTF from Florida  answered…4yrs4Y

 @8ST5H43 from Virginia  answered…4yrs4Y

If they are legally allowed to carry in their state it should be up to the individual institution to make rules and regulations regarding who is allowed to carry firearms.

 @8SSCMPJ from Utah  answered…4yrs4Y

 @8SQF6X9 from New York  answered…4yrs4Y

Yes but only if the teachers have a permit and have promised to only use the gun in times of emergency

 @8SFX9HG from North Carolina  answered…4yrs4Y

Yes, as long as they go through the proper classes and are well informed and may require special training.

 @8SFHPR3 from North Dakota  answered…4yrs4Y

Yes, provided they volunteer and are properly trained with their specific weapon of choice.

 @8RCPK3X from Pennsylvania  answered…4yrs4Y

 @8RBM8CL from Colorado  answered…4yrs4Y

yes, you don't see anyone robbing a police station because the criminal knows that they are armed.

 @8RB7HVH from Tennessee  answered…4yrs4Y

Yes, but they should be locked in a desk and the key kept on them at all times

 @8R859XP from Nebraska  answered…4yrs4Y

yes, they should because the only reason that schools are targeted is that they are a gun-free zone. The teachers should have to go through special training to carry the gun and also have a spot to put it where no student can get to it at all times

 @8R7M5BBLibertarian from Iowa  answered…4yrs4Y

 @8R53X7S from North Carolina  answered…4yrs4Y

Yes, concealed carry is a personal choice and one should not have their 2nd amendment rights limited due to their choice in career.

 @8R47SXM from Colorado  answered…4yrs4Y

No, schools should not be geared to act in a shooting but prevent the shooting from the beginning with increased attention on the students mental health and well being. School shootings are not about guns.

 @8QZ623N from Colorado  answered…4yrs4Y

schools should not be funded by the government they should all be private. then its up to the owners of the private school

 @8QMG3CG from Utah  answered…4yrs4Y

Yes, they need to take a serious course for concealed carry in schools though.

 @8QDW7RQRepublican from New York  answered…4yrs4Y

Yes, but only if they are highly trained and are comfortable with the addition responsibility

 @8PXZ83K from Minnesota  answered…4yrs4Y

Yes, but they need to be very well trained and have very strict background checks ran

 @8PVTFT7Independent from Iowa  answered…4yrs4Y

 @8N86NDG from Texas  answered…5yrs5Y

I think it should be hidden not on there body so we have protection if someone comes in are class and tries to hurt us.

 @8MW2NS8 from South Carolina  answered…5yrs5Y

Teachers should be allowed to have a gun at school, in case of an emergency. However, it needs to be in a locked drawer at least 2 movements away to avoid accidents.

 @98937LZ from Alabama  answered…2yrs2Y

Should be able to have one in a car for safety reasons but not in a classroom.

 @984T9KV from Tennessee  answered…2yrs2Y

Yes, but only if they are authorized and in a right state of mind to do so, it's dangerous to be unarmed in schools at this point

 @983RKT9 from Kentucky  answered…2yrs2Y

Yes, but only if they have had training, have not commited major crimes, and are mentally stable.

 @97SGVPGRepublican from Indiana  answered…3yrs3Y

No, but there should be an armed security guard at the school at all times.

 @97JHYFM from Montana  answered…3yrs3Y

If the teacher wants to have a gun at school then it should be in a secure lockbox that can only be accessed by authorized people with either key, combination or biometrics lock

 @97DMPSYRepublican from North Carolina  answered…3yrs3Y

teachers should have the options to carry if they have a concealed carry permit.

 @9752W3T from New Jersey  answered…3yrs3Y

 @974PXWR from Ohio  answered…3yrs3Y

 @973LMGLLibertarian from Nebraska  answered…3yrs3Y

 @96WPFG4from Georgia  answered…3yrs3Y

Schools should tactfully employ a designated and thoughroughly trained individual detailed to safety for all those individuals on school grounds, to act as a first line of defense against potential harm, and a first responder to unfortunate incidents.

 @96T8QCY from Pennsylvania  answered…3yrs3Y

Yes, but make sure they are mentally healthy first before they bring their guns to school.

 @95P7SJB from Ohio  answered…3yrs3Y

I think that all teachers should have the choice to get to have professional training to be able to be armed in school.
