28 states US states currently allow teachers or school staff to be armed in the classroom under varying conditions. Proponents argue that without guns, teachers or other staff have only limited countermeasures available to them when confronted with a shooter. Opponents, include The National Education Association and the American Federation of Teachers, highlight the elevated risk of accidents and negligent use of firearms as more adults in schools are armed.

This totally depends on how much the teacher is trusted but I feel like this is not very smart In case a student somehow got a hold of that gun.
they must take a class on when the proper time to use it as well as if they wish to have it it is NOT necessary as well as if a student asks to hold the firearm or in anyway touch it they should be removed from the school and if the teacher does want to have a firearm they should have it on them at all times
I can see in some schools needing to carry a gun with them during school hours as a safety measure for the class, but it also does increase the chances of a school shooting happening. Because a student could just get behind the teacher and take the gun and then start a school shooting
i think they should because if something were to happen that was ergent and the cops or more then one cop could come we would have a lot more help.
Have other weapons and be trained and recertification yearly with 3 month mental wellness check s
No, hire professionally trained security guards instead and No, this would increase the risk of accidental shootings
Loaded question so my answer is yes and no
Yes, but only with carry permits, training, and kept in a secure safe without students knowing there is a gun and where it is. Any elementary school should not have a gun in a classroom, there should be armed officers or guards in the schools with teachers having a "panick" button that would alert them if needed and the principal should be also able to access a weapon.

Even in the best circumstances the police will still have to get to the school. If teachers are armed they can deal with the threat before more children are harmed.
Also as seen in Uvalde, sometimes the police are too cowardly to do their job.
it would be a good idea but could end badly for student and teacher trust
I think that depends on the state. But yeah.
Yes, if they would like to.
Yes, schools should arm and train all teachers to be ready for any circumstance.
