In the U.S. 100 nuclear reactors provide 20% of the country's energy. Proponents argue that nuclear energy is now safe and emits much less carbon emissions than coal plants. Opponents argue that recent nuclear disasters in Japan prove that nuclear power is far from safe.

Yes, but we must ensure regular inspections, maintenance, and constant research on how to improve the quality and safety of nuclear energy. Power plants should also be built as far away from civilization as possible in the rare case of a meltdown.
