The federal minimum wage is the lowest wage at which employers may pay their employees. Since July 24, 2009 the U.S. federal minimum wage has been set at $7.25 per hour. In 2014 President Obama proposed raising the federal minimum wage to $10.10 and tying it to an inflation index. The federal minimum wage applies to all federal employees including those who work on military bases, national parks and veterans working in nursing homes.

No, abolish all wage and price controls and let the free market decide. minimum wage increases kill jobs and should not be allowed to happen.
It's interesting to note that during the Industrial Revolution, there were no minimum wage laws, and the market was able to determine wages based on supply and demand. This led to rapid economic growth and job creation. However, it's essential to consider the potential downsides, such as exploitation and income inequality. Do you think there can be a balance between a free market system and some form of worker protection?

Regardless, the federal government doesn't have any authority to regulate private business, so all must be decided at the state level (and hopefully kept at a minimum even there)

Yes, but not to $15 an hour as progressives hope for. Somewhere like $10 an hour is more reasonable as long as businesses agree to the raise.
@Datribett24yrs4Y
No unless it is based off of the current wage and inflation rates.
@8QQ3ZQC4yrs4Y
Yes, but less than $15/hour proposed by many advocates

No, store owners can decide how much to pay an employee based on how much he or she is worth

No, abolish it and let workers bargain with their employers.
@92W74JS3yrs3Y
No, most companies pay above minimum wage anyways.
@IINXMPRepublican4yrs4Y
No, we should not have a federal minimum wage, and create deals with companies and industrial facilities to employ those who need a job.
@IINXMPRepublican4yrs4Y
No, and we should both lower the minimum wage and create deals with companies and industrial facilities to employ those who need a job.
