National Science Foundation Staff Revolt Against Trump Administration's Politicization of Science

Hundreds of National Science Foundation (NSF) employees have publicly voiced concerns over what they describe as politically motivated and legally questionable actions by the Trump administration.

Staffers allege that the administration has interfered with the agency's independence, halted or cut funding for over 1,600 research projects, and engaged in retaliatory firings. In response, more than 140 NSF employees have petitioned Congress to investigate these actions, fearing that scientific integrity and critical research are at risk. The dissent has spread to other federal science agencies, reflecting widespread unrest among government scientists.
