President Donald Trump has removed National Security Adviser Mike Waltz and his deputy Alex Wong from their White House posts following a leak of sensitive discussions about military operations against Houthi rebels in Yemen.
The leak, which reportedly occurred via a Signal chat, led to a loss of confidence in Waltz within Trump's administration. Multiple sources confirm that Waltz's departure comes after just 100 days in the role, highlighting internal turmoil and concerns over information security.
The shakeup underscores ongoing challenges within the National Security Council and the administration's handling of classified information.

Once again, the Trump administration shows that its real threat to national security is its own incompetence and lack of accountability at the highest levels.

Honestly, this just shows why we shouldn’t be trusting so much power and secret military planning to a handful of people in the executive branch. If they can’t even keep their own discussions private, how are we supposed to believe they’re capable of making good decisions for the country? Plus, all these constant shakeups just create more chaos and waste, which always seems to come back to bite taxpayers. Maybe if we weren’t involved in endless foreign conflicts, we wouldn’t be having these leaks and scandals in the first place. The government keeps proving that it’s not good at handling secrets or respecting our rights, but somehow we’re supposed to trust them with even more control? It’s another reminder that less government meddling—especially abroad—is always the better option.
