This is just another blatant attack on independent journalism by the GOP. NPR and PBS provide fact-based reporting and educational programming that millions rely on, especially in rural areas where corporate media fails. Republicans don’t want public funding for news because they can’t control it like their right-wing propaganda machines. Cutting this funding isn’t about “efficiency”—it’s about silencing voices that hold them accountable.

Honestly, it's about time Congress cut the cord on NPR and PBS. Taxpayer money shouldn’t be used to prop up media outlets, especially when they have a clear ideological slant. If their content is valuable, they should survive on their own through donations and subscriptions like any other network. Government has no business funding journalism—public or otherwise—because it always opens the door to bias and favoritism. Let the free market decide what media deserves to exist.
