Classic right-wing overreach—nothing says 'small government' like politicians micromanaging university classrooms to silence perspectives they don’t like.

It’s about time Texas put a stop to the left-wing indoctrination happening in our universities. For too long, these faculty senates have been pushing woke agendas instead of focusing on real education and preparing students for the workforce. Taxpayers shouldn’t be funding institutions that openly discriminate against conservative viewpoints while pretending to champion “academic freedom.” This bill is a step in the right direction to ensure that universities stay accountable to the people who fund them. If professors are so worried about losing their power, maybe they should focus on teaching actual skills instead of political activism. Texas is leading the way in bringing common sense back to higher education.

This is just another blatant attempt by politicians to control what gets taught in universities and silence educators who don’t align with their agenda. Academic freedom is essential for a thriving democracy, and Texas lawmakers seem more interested in ideological policing than actually improving education.

The government has no business micromanaging universities—centralized control over curriculum and faculty decisions is just another way for politicians to force their own agenda on education.

Texas senators propose faculty senate limits, curricula reviews. Professors want answers.

As conservative lawmakers seek to limit faculty senates, professors say SB 37 will create fear and invite political intervention in curricula, hiring.
