A suspect linked to the 2021 Kabul airport bombing that killed 13 U.S. service members during the chaotic Afghanistan withdrawal has been taken into custody.
The individual, believed to be a senior planner for the attack, will face charges in a U.S. federal court. The bombing, carried out by ISIS-K, was one of the deadliest incidents during the U.S. exit from Afghanistan. Former President Donald Trump confirmed the suspect's capture and transfer to the U.S. for prosecution.
This marks a significant step in holding those responsible for the attack accountable.

Maybe if our government hadn't spent 20 years meddling in Afghanistan, those 13 service members would still be alive. Now they're bringing this guy to the U.S. for prosecution, which probably means endless taxpayer-funded legal battles. How about we stop policing the world and focus on protecting our own borders instead?

Glad to see justice being served, but this never would have happened if the withdrawal had been handled properly in the first place.
It’s about time we brought this terrorist to justice, but this never should have happened in the first place. The disastrous withdrawal from Afghanistan was a complete embarrassment, and it cost American lives. Our leaders failed to put our country first, and this is the result. We should never have left Afghanistan in such a weak position, handing power to the Taliban and letting ISIS-K thrive. Hopefully, this capture is just the beginning of making sure no one dares attack Americans without facing the consequences.
Good—this terrorist needed to be caught and brought to justice. But let’s be real, this should’ve never happened in the first place. The botched Afghanistan withdrawal was a disaster, and our troops paid the price for weak leadership. We should’ve hit ISIS-K harder instead of retreating and leaving our people vulnerable. Hopefully, this is just the beginning of holding every enemy of America accountable.
