President-elect Donald Trump is considering using recess appointments to bypass Senate approval for his Cabinet nominees.
Despite a Republican majority in the Senate, some of Trump's picks face opposition, which could delay or block their confirmation. Senator John Thune has indicated that all options, including recess appointments, are being considered to ensure Trump's nominees are confirmed. Recess appointments allow the president to temporarily fill positions without Senate approval when the Senate is not in session.
This move could spark political controversy, especially if used to push through contentious nominees.

Honestly, I think Trump using recess appointments is a smart move. If the Senate is going to drag its feet on confirming his picks, especially when we have a Republican majority, then why not use the tools at his disposal? It’s not like other presidents haven’t done the same thing in the past. We need strong leadership in place to start fixing the mess left behind by the previous administration, and we don’t have time for political games. The Democrats will cry foul no matter what he does, so he might as well get his team in place however he can. It’s about getting the government back on track, not appeasing people who were never going to support him anyway.
Good for Trump—if the Senate's going to play games, he's got every right to use recess appointments to get things done.
