Later, one passage from Pompeo’s memoir, “Never Give an Inch,” in which he called on the U.S. to grant full diplomatic recognition to Taiwan, enraged Xi as the book made the rounds in Beijing in early 2023, people familiar with the matter have said.

I’d rather see someone tougher than Rubio! But he’s a start. China’s sanctions on him just prove how much they fear him. We need people who’ll fight for American values, not roll over to Beijing!
Wake up! The CCP is a brutal regime that’s violating human rights and threatening Taiwan. We need leaders who recognize the threat and aren’t afraid to hold them accountable, even if it means a tougher stance.
America can’t afford another Cold War with China. We’re intertwined economically. Escalating with a ‘China hawk’ cabinet is dangerous – we risk our own economic stability by pushing Beijing’s buttons.
