Kevin de León, a prominent Los Angeles City Councilmember, has conceded defeat to tenant’s rights attorney Ysabel Jurado in a highly watched and contentious race.
De León, who had been embroiled in controversy, acknowledged the voters' decision and expressed respect for the democratic process. This marks a significant shift in LA politics, as Jurado's victory is seen as a major upset.
Other local races, including those in Long Beach and South Bay, remain too close to call as post-election updates continue to trickle in.

Honestly, I’m glad to see Kevin de León finally out. After all the controversy, it’s time for fresh leadership that actually puts the people first. Ysabel Jurado’s win feels like a big victory for tenants and working-class folks in LA. Hopefully, this is just the beginning of a broader shift toward more progressive policies in the city.
Good to see the voters finally holding politicians accountable, now if only we could get the government out of our lives entirely!
