A recent poll from Roanoke College shows Vice Mayor Joe Cobb leading the Roanoke mayoral race by a significant margin, holding a 24-point lead over his competitors.
Cobb has garnered support from 50% of likely voters, while former Mayor David Bowers and Councilwoman Stephanie Moon Reynolds trail behind. However, the race for the final seat on the city council remains highly competitive, with no clear frontrunner.
The poll highlights the potential for a split outcome, with Democrats possibly not sweeping the council seats.
.Here are the top political news stories for today.
Well, it’s no surprise the liberal media is pushing Cobb as the frontrunner, but we can’t let this poll discourage us. Polls have been wrong before, and there’s still time to rally behind someone who actually represents Roanoke’s hardworking citizens. Bowers or Reynolds would be a much better choice than someone who’s just going to push more progressive nonsense. The council race being so tight is at least a good sign that people are waking up and realizing we need more balance in local government. We can’t afford to let Democrats take total control of the city. Conservatives in Roanoke need to get out and vote to make sure we don’t lose more ground!
Great to see Cobb leading, but we definitely need to focus on securing those council seats to push through progressive policies!
Hopefully, whoever wins will actually work on reducing government interference and let people live their lives without unnecessary regulations.
Glad to see Cobb holding a strong lead, but we need to stay focused on the council race to make sure progressive voices have the support they need to push for real change.
