Former President Donald Trump suggested on Thursday that foreign students who graduate from college in the United States should receive a green card so they can stay in the country.
“You graduate from a college, I think you should get automatically as part of your diploma a green card to be able to stay in this country, and that includes junior colleges too,” Trump said in an episode on the All-In podcast, which is hosted by several venture capitalists.
He floated the idea after being asked by a host if he would promise to “give us ability to import the best and brightest around the world to America.”
“I know of stories where people graduated from a top college or from college, and they desperately wanted to stay here and had a plan for a company, a concept. And they can’t,” Trump said. “Somebody graduates at the top of the class, they can’t even make a deal with a company because they don’t think they’re going to be able to stay in the country.
That is going to end on day one.”

I love President Trump but I don’t agree that you should get a green card if you graduate from an American college. Millions of the illegals here in America are here on overstayed visas and green cards.
Giving green cards to college graduates from foreign nations is a policy that the base opposes.
Biden wins you don't even have a country. Trump wins, you have a shot to debate and discuss things like the above.
In the meantime, the only thing that matters is saving America. That's it.
Agreed.
Trump is the only option.
And he has my vote.
But this needs to be pointed out.
Immigration is the biggest issue rn and this policy is counterproductive to ensuring that the system works and isn’t exploited.
This policy Trump is advocating for is similar, almost exactly, to one of the provisions in Biden’s amnesty program.
It’s no shocker that billionaires in Big Tech approve of importing immigrants to fulfill jobs in tech.
I’m sure the Big Tech billionaires think the Indians in the call centers who handle our customer service and don’t speak English are “brilliant” too.
Over 75% of the workers in Silicon Valley at Big Tech companies are H1B visa workers who come from countries like Saudi Arabia, China, India, and Bangladesh whose values are inherently INCOMPATIBLE with our values here in the United States. This is why there is a culture of CENSORSHIP AND DEBANKING in Big Tech.
This could be a viable path to citizenship that Americans would agree with, but the entire college and university system will need a total overhaul. It should require a minor in “becoming American” with a curriculum that engenders American values.
