Congressional Republicans introduced a bill on Wednesday that would eliminate all diversity, equity, and inclusion positions in the federal government and bar federal contractors from requiring DEI statements and training sessions.
The Dismantle DEI Act, introduced by Sen.
J.D. Vance (R., Ohio) and Rep. Michael Cloud (R., Texas), would also bar federal grants from going to diversity initiatives, cutting off a key source of support for DEI programs in science and medicine. Other provisions would prevent accreditation agencies from requiring DEI in schools and bar national securities associations, like NASDAQ and the New York Stock Exchange, from instituting diversity requirements for corporate boards.
"The DEI agenda is a destructive ideology that breeds hatred and racial division," Vance told the Washington Free Beacon. "It has no place in our federal government or anywhere else in our society."
The bill is the most comprehensive legislative effort yet to excise DEI initiatives from the federal government and regulated entities.
It offers a preview of how a Republican-controlled government, led by former president Donald Trump, could crack down on the controversial diversity programs that have exploded since 2020, fueled in part by President Joe Biden’s executive orders mandating a "whole-of-government" approach to "racial equity."

Too bad Affirmative Action wasn’t stopped 40 years ago when I entered the workplace and was told White Men would be promoted last regardless of skills/ability. DEI is Affirmative Action on steroids and it is racist.

For those not versed in MAGA's hatred, DEI (or DE&I) stands for diversity, equity, and inclusion. As a discipline, DEI is any policy or practice designed to make people of various backgrounds feel welcome and ensure they have support to perform to the fullest of their abilities in the workplace. How is this at all bad? Women, Minorities, and people of all walks get a chance at a good job, etc. I think Vance and the GOP are thinking something else...

Here, I fixed it for you. "As a discipline, DEI is any policy or practice designed to make people of various backgrounds go to the front of the line and puts straight, white, males in the back of the bus."

I’m pretty sure that those people who are hired under that recruitment program has more experience and a better education than you do and the fact that you want to have them fired for no reason, other than your mediocre, insecurity says more about you than it does them.
DEI is a toxic and racist ideology that aims to minimise the roles of white people in society and discriminate against competent and capable individuals. It is an anti-meritocratic, anti-American, anti-freedom cult, and must be snuffed out.

Should all be judged by the content of our character and not the color of our skin.

But some of you are crying that Caitlin Clark should make the US Olympic team because of the lack of straight white women on the roster.

All this DEI Hysteria is a smokescreen for reasserting White Supremacy. Sadly, my Texas A&M succumbed to this and embarrassed themselves. The only place they want DEI is on the football field and the basketball court.
I can see contractors being placed into double jeopardy if they are compelled to have DEI by some other entity. The result may be a loss of responding vendors. The idea is fantastic; I just see some devils in the details that need to get thought through.

I wish it would pass. It won’t obviously. What’s more viable, Is a backdoor built into budget or rule making. . Like environmental impact studies to block or slow legislation. Maybe a cost analysis study. Balanced budget. Where the agency is forced to analyze the position. How it will help the core mission of the agency. Could it inhibit core principals of agency in anyway or military readiness How much will it increase the budget. Proposed budget cuts to balance hire. I love Vance’s idea. Won’t happen.
What about recourse for those whose careers have been upended, ended or otherwise stymied by DEI policies. Should be fertile ground for some class action lawsuits.
Another really cool bill that won't get into law.
