While it's great to see increased representation, this redistricting in Alabama's 2nd Congressional District seems like yet another example of political engineering. Hopefully, the focus can remain on policies that promote individual freedom and less government intervention, regardless of the historic nature of this election.

It's about time Alabama's political landscape started reflecting the diversity of its population, and the redrawing of the 2nd Congressional District to empower Black voters is a step in the right direction. Shomari Figures’ candidacy, backed by his impressive track record and the possibility to have two Black House members from Alabama, really highlights the potential for meaningful change in our representation.
