as long as its not terrible, you should not be controlled for what you do or don't say, you will simply have to face the possible consequences afterward.

 @9VBMQWF from Nevada  answered…8mos8MO

No, but there needs to be something about people having respect for other regardless of their opinions.

If the hate speech is discriminative towards race, gender, or party then no. but if it's a criticism then yes

 @9QTDY8K from Nevada  answered…10mos10MO

Yes, but keeping in mind that the first amendment doesn't protect the individual from social and economic consequences.

 @haxzie from Nevada  answered…1yr1Y

What should be reinforced with the first amendment is that consequences will follow your actions, just because you can say something doesn’t mean you’re exempt from critique or punishment.

No, everyone is entitled to free speech as long as they don't have bad intentions or aim to be violent or bigoted.

 @9FZ26WHSocialist from Nevada  answered…2yrs2Y

Yes. People can be cruel and so we just have to accept that people want to be that way. Whoever is committing the hate speech has a problem. We don't have to listen to it. But if it promotes violence, we need to stop it.

 @9D4NRDZ from Nevada  answered…2yrs2Y

The only speech that needs to be protected is what some people consider hate speech. Obviously if people say something against the law that is different, but stating an opinion should never be against the law.

 @96ND9NVLibertarian from Nevada  answered…3yrs3Y

Yes, as long as it does not incite or promote violence. Also, I do not trust the government to define the boundaries of hate speech.

Not without further qualification of what kind of speech, is it speech coming from an organization known to commit violence? Or is it the speech of a person who lives in the shadow of government power, and is ultimately acting in a passive manner in regards to their political speech.

 @8XNBQWS from Nevada  answered…3yrs3Y

No, you should not be prosecuted for words said or feelings, only violent actions taken out due to hate.

 @6X6MDWDLibertarian from Nevada  answered…5yrs5Y

Yes, as long as it does not innately advocate or incite wide-spread violence.

 @8HDKMDP from Nevada  answered…5yrs5Y

Yes, but it would need to be thoroughly defined to not form a loophole for the government to violate decent speech.

 @8GC6K66 from Nevada  answered…5yrs5Y

yes and no, if it promotes violence and harm towards others it should not be allowed

 @8DXL7DZ from Nevada  answered…5yrs5Y

 @8DCCTJD from Nevada  answered…5yrs5Y

Yes as long as it does not threaten violence but I do not trust the government to define the boundaries of hate speech.

 @9B7VQR2Independent from Nevada  answered…2yrs2Y

Yes, but more needs to be done to reduce hateful and bigoted speech without infringing on the freedom of speech

 @96XWZQJ from Nevada  answered…3yrs3Y

Everyone has a right to say what is on their minds, as long as it does not get physical, freedom to speech still applies to all citizens of the US.

 @935QZSG from Nevada  answered…3yrs3Y

Yes. Unless it is allowed only if the target group can answer right way. Otherwise hate speech is a violation of the first amendment.

 @8GPNN4Q from Nevada  answered…5yrs5Y

yes and no because its bad but at the same time hate speech is only an extention of ones own beliefs of something and even if they're bad they shouldn't be censored
