No, increase funding and training for police departments in higher crime rate communities No

Definitly not! The police are the ones who risk there lives to protect us.

 @9CKGW4ZRepublican from Washington  answered…2yrs2Y

No, increase funding and training for both police departments and community responders

 @8GYP5G4Republican from South Carolina  answered…5yrs5Y

 @92KCXHRRepublican from Maryland  answered…3yrs3Y

i believe that the police should have stricter rules to what and how the can handle certain situations. But no i do not believe that there funding should be reduced.

 @8K7JG5FRepublican from Iowa  answered…5yrs5Y

No, but funding for social and community based programs should be increased.

No, increase funding and training for all police departments to include those programs.

 @8DL4F33Republican from Minnesota  answered…5yrs5Y

 @9ZWPK8BRepublican  from Tennessee  answered…5mos5MO

Yes, the police need more training and less weapons, and the people need more job opportunities and community support to curb crime rates. Very few people are criminals by choice.

 @9ZPSMRLRepublican from Minnesota  answered…6mos6MO

Yes, but only redirect funds for police departments in low crime communities, and use some of those redirected funds for high crime areas as well as social and community based programs

 @9ZDMJFBRepublican from West Virginia  answered…6mos6MO

In low crime areas it should be decreased but not fully gone and in high crime areas it should be increased

 @9YC634VRepublican from Minnesota  answered…6mos6MO

I believe that the police departments should be funded enough to do there job, but some of the funding over time should go to social and community programs

 @9Y9BVDRRepublican from Florida  answered…6mos6MO

Yes and no. Not taking away funding from the police but adding more and allocating that funding toward creating departments geared toward social work and providing better training for the officers we have so they can better deal with their community members in crisis.

 @9Y8W2X7Republican from North Dakota  answered…6mos6MO

yes and no our police need funding to help keep us safe but their are people out there without a home that need somewhere to stay.

 @9Y2BB89Republican from Georgia  answered…6mos6MO

more funding should be directed to communities, however police protect the people in dangerous areas. with more training they can be better than what they are.

 @9XYBPWXRepublican from Oregon  answered…6mos6MO

Remove the corrupt police and their leaders, (Agencies) and replace with upstanding qualified professionals / US citizens.

 @9XWQNPNRepublican from Illinois  answered…6mos6MO

Yes, but there should be more focus on the social and community based programs, because people in high crime rate cities deserve better than what's happening to them.

 @9XTKXM8Republican from Pennsylvania  answered…6mos6MO

No, increase training for Police and also make lawsuits against officers out of their pocket and not the departments.

 @9XKKXBSRepublican from West Virginia  answered…6mos6MO

No because if you take away police funding it will take away from their training and many other things that the police need and it’s completely stupid to even bring this up you defund the police how do you expect them to respond on time or handle a situation they haven’t gotten training for?

 @9XH58RVRepublican from Indiana  answered…6mos6MO

increase the funds for higher crime rate cities and lessen by s smaller bit for the police that have little crime rate

 @9XGNZ7RRepublican from California  answered…6mos6MO

To an extent, but still allow a good amount of funds to be directed to the police and their work. I believe there should be programs to help the police be more respected and connected to their community, but it shouldn't interfere too much with funding they need to do their jobs.

 @9X6DPSMRepublican from Wyoming  answered…6mos6MO

no but I do think that the police in certain areas need to be trained better to avoid unnecessary violence

 @9X4YJL5Republican from Iowa  answered…7mos7MO

Without the police there will be more crimes committed and people will get killed and the killer will have no consequences

 @9WTFWS6Republican from Texas  answered…7mos7MO

No, Police funding should stay the same but training should be at minimum 2 years to ensure they fully understand our constitutional rights and need to be retrained on use of force.

 @9WMY2ZRRepublican from California  answered…7mos7MO

Maybe some funding could be redirected to community based programs. Most of the people who commit crimes have no sense of belonging or stability which community programs help with but I think it depends on the crime rate in the area and the amount of funding that police station gets.

 @9WJPCQCRepublican from Texas  answered…7mos7MO

Yes, but it has to be paired with anthropological, psycologic and psychiatrical studies that encompass sociopolitical and geographic contexts.

 @9WJLYHHRepublican from Indiana  answered…7mos7MO

No, increase funding so that the police have better chances than they do now so that social and community based programs are safer, and the people.

 @9WG4NXZRepublican from Pennsylvania  answered…7mos7MO

Higher punishment for officers who kill unarmed or innocent civilians. Specially if it's based off or race

 @9WFZL37Republican from Missouri  answered…7mos7MO

I think funding the police is a great idea but not take away their funding for social and community base programs but I do still think that these programs should receive some sort of funding.

 @9WDMZNFRepublican from Georgia  answered…7mos7MO

Yes, but I don't think they should replace police, instead use community to show their public opinion.

 @9W5NPD2Republican from Georgia  answered…7mos7MO

I do think we should redirect funds from somewhere else to be put back into social and community based programs. I think that the police need all the funding they can get, and to take funding away from them would be a bad thing.

 @9W4Q2W7Republican from Tennessee  answered…7mos7MO

Funding should stay the same, but training should be longer. There are other countries that have much longer training requirements and we should do the same.

 @9W4N6P4Republican from Maryland  answered…7mos7MO

No, There should still be funding for the police but maybe a little less so some funding could go to social and community based programs

 @9VWXKYGRepublican from New York  answered…7mos7MO

Neither because what are social and community based programs going to do better than the police, the police do nothing.

 @9VV2KMVRepublican from Massachusetts  answered…7mos7MO

Let's ask the police what they need in terms of social worker support. This should be a collaboration with the people who pledged to serve and protect. Let's work together.

 @9VSH2RCRepublican from Michigan  answered…7mos7MO

They should both get funded, but the local police should be funded more as they are protecting the citizens.

 @9VS2DL9Republican from Oklahoma  answered…7mos7MO

If they are being paid too much and the community is suffering there should be some of their funds allocated to the community

 @9VQRTKLRepublican from Indiana  answered…7mos7MO

Not all of it, cops are important to citizens. Yes they need to cut some of the funding but only like 5-15%.

 @9VNSL9GRepublican from Pennsylvania  answered…7mos7MO

No I feel like certain should have their local police department funding increased depending on the crime rate on the area

 @9VG3JZMRepublican from California  answered…7mos7MO

Give higher regulations on police and stricter punishments when not following rules to minimize corruption

 @9V43NJNRepublican from New York  answered…8mos8MO

I don't think it should be because if there is more police funding which means more police on the road, the less crime there will be

 @9TZWZMGRepublican from Utah  answered…8mos8MO

No, increase funding and training for police departments on mental health issues and non-violent calls

 @9TZR7VPRepublican from North Carolina  answered…8mos8MO

Keep the funding and do more training for ALL categories to know how to help or prevent something from spiraling out

 @9TXRS32Republican  from New York  answered…8mos8MO

i think we should get faster cars and allow to tune them up, instead of a "292 hp 3.6L Pentastar V6 with available Flex Fuel capability, or the 370 hp 5.7L HEMI V8 with Fuel Saver Technology" as i think it is. make it a better and faster car for speed chases.(yes I really like cars)

 @9TTT4ZSRepublican from Indiana  answered…8mos8MO

I don’t think there should be restrictions but instead take funding out of a different program that already is affiliated in social issues and take funding out for social and community based programs

 @9TTGFX3Republican from New York  answered…8mos8MO

Increase funding for police, social and community programs. Why does it have to be one or the other?

 @9TSP3PRRepublican from Illinois  answered…8mos8MO

I think the police are an important fundamental part of society. Getting them involved in a community can give you a greater trust with the police. I also think you should increase funding for police in higher crime rate areas since they are more involved with crimes and such.

 @9TSGF8ZRepublican from Minnesota  answered…8mos8MO

Part of being a police officer should be being apart of the community and make less of a bad relationship between cops the community

 @9TSBGHTRepublican from Tennessee  answered…8mos8MO

I dont think they should take the funding from the police, but we do need some funding from somewhere for the communities that dont have much.

 @9TQGCPJRepublican from Kansas  answered…8mos8MO

I feel like a better compromise is it find a balance between both. Maybe we can fund communities and less with police in low crime rate areas, and higher funding and less community based funding in higher crime rate areas.

 @9TNSTRRRepublican from Virginia  answered…8mos8MO

No, the police are starting to become useless, so we cant expect them to help us. We have to learn to start protecting ourselves

 @9TMGL46Republican from Virginia  answered…8mos8MO

I believe the police should be funded more so they can find the best people they can for the job that also includes more non lethal tools and there should be more funding to social and community based programs.

 @9TLSXZRRepublican from Arizona  answered…8mos8MO

I think it should depend on if the local police department is in need or not. If not I think it should be redirected. Or both, maybe the funds could be split.

 @9THQPS3Republican from Missouri  answered…8mos8MO

you should be able to give your town money and it be split up between between all community business but the majority should go to first responders.

 @9TF5TQNRepublican from Wyoming  answered…8mos8MO

I think this issue has many facets that need to be addressed separately. I do think police funding does need to be increased in high-crime areas, however the need for community support and other public safety is wildly important. A multi-pronged effort to meet the needs of the community on every level.

 @9TF448WRepublican from Wyoming  answered…8mos8MO

Funding should not be removed from police departments but instead create a community program through the police departments that benefit the community and the police officers.

 @9TDMJ22Republican from Arizona  answered…8mos8MO

These are separate issues. keep funding for police and also increase social based programs. Both with extreme reporting of funds standards

 @9T7C4LZRepublican from Arizona  answered…8mos8MO

This is the dumbest question I have ever been asked in my entire life. In what world does any person with a functioning healthy brain think this is a good idea.

 @9SSDXVVRepublican from Nevada  answered…9mos9MO

Some of the money to fund the police should go towards social and community-based programs, but not all of it.

 @9SP9YT9Republican from Florida  answered…9mos9MO

Funding needs to be geared towards properly training police officers on how to handle every type of situation with understanding of what is happening and realizing the difference between a mental health crisis and a violent offender. Oftentimes mental health crisis are not handle appropriately and are escalated by improper understanding of the situation.

 @9SMR4SBRepublican from Illinois  answered…9mos9MO

I'm personally in favor of defunding the police, but feel that where the money should go is best left decided at the local / municipal level.

 @9SKWS8GRepublican from Florida  answered…9mos9MO

Back the blue. Increased training and mentorship. Provide more interaction with community to educate on laws and ways to help with disparity

 @9SK9NMQRepublican from Georgia  answered…9mos9MO

We should increase funding and quality training for police and increase funding for social programs at the same time

 @9SC3J89Republican from North Carolina  answered…9mos9MO

Both should be done increase funding for the police and increase funding for social/community based programs

 @9S9HSV2Republican from Georgia  answered…9mos9MO

I don't think police should exactly have a decrease in funding but, a background check; the unarmed responders for non-violent calls is a good idea.

 @9S7BQR7Republican from California  answered…9mos9MO

I believe that Funding for police needs to be increase to give each individual officer better training as well as an annual refreshers on perishable skills such as basic medical skills, firearms, and deescalation techniques. I think that towns need to also redirect money from other departments for community and social based programs ask do believe them to be very important for young members of the community.

 @9S6ZDVKRepublicanfrom Maine  answered…9mos9MO

Yes, but don't defund the police. Increase the funding for services related to police so the police don't have to act as multiple people (A physiatrist, Doctor, therapist, etc)

 @9RZC7N2Republican from Arizona  answered…9mos9MO

I believe that police funding should be reduced in places where it is overly high as having more opportunities and community programs allows for a stronger community. This results in less crime solving the issue that over usage of police force does but in a healthier and in a better way
