If we try our best to eliminate poverty by taking care of peoples basic needs, there would be no need for a stronger police as crime will plummet.
People need to work in order to be a successful economy. If people don't want to work, and resort to criminal behaviour to get their money, that's bad and they deserve punishment. By taking care of people's basic needs, while yes that would reduce crime, that would also dismotivate them to work, thus harming the economy. What you're advocating for is communism, providing everyone with what they need, and as we've seen, that never works out. Just look at Mao and Stalin.

#4 Engaged Criminal Issues Engaged Defunding the Police
If police were defunded they would not have the resources to handle the illegal drug problem (among many others that would make this comment annoyingly long for others to read and for me to write) and the thing about drugs it that THEY'RE INCREDIBLY ADDICTIVE, so the illegal drug problem would never goes away when police forces are weakened and would just skyrocket, causing other crimes to persist, if not increase, because narcotics make people high, and thus make people do stupid stuff!!! We've seen a rise in crime during the Biden administration because so many police departments, even at county levels, have lower budgets than before.
