A 2017 College Board study estimated that the cost of college has increased 100% since 2001. The St. Louis Federal Reserve Bank estimates that U.S. college tuition debt has increased from $480 billion in 2006 to $1.5 trillion in 2018. Several 2020 Democratic Presidential Primary candidates have argued that the cost of college is out of control and that the government should pay for tuition. Opponents argue that the government cant afford it and point to estimates from the Committee for a Responsible Federal budget that estimate programs would cost the government $80 billion a year.

Only if the person who is going to college has a good enough record and won't waste the goverment money.
Well, I think that if it is important for humans that the government has the minds of young people busy filling them with information and less with practice, at the very least they should make education cost less, which is what keeps many brilliant minds from moving forward. . study or the government should help and pay more for the expenses that a student has in a career.
I think that it depends because you don't want them to run out of money paying for you or someone else to go to collage so i think sometimes but not always like if they are rich i don't think they should be paying for them because they have plenty of money but if they are poor then i think you should because they need to go to school and learn about things in life that happened and happens

Yes, but mostly for low income students. Some students are able to pay for tuition, and therefore do not need this aid. This money could be used elsewhere. However, for others that can not pay this, they would be set back and start on the wrong foot in life with all this student debt. The government should absolutely pay for tuition.
No, but more scholarship opportunities should be available for all students, not just low income.
Only for the ones who are high when it comes to grades(averages 85+)
for all colleges, it's to much I say like 18 years has 5 thousand that's not a lot, but then paying off student loans are like umm 19 thousand how do you pay this off?
Yes for however long they are in college but only for people who cannot afford it or struggle/single parents.
State government should pay tuition at state colleges.

Use an Australia like model where repayments only payable once a job is obtained
Help pay tuition at four-year colleges to those who in are in really need and aren't able to pay full ride.
Yes but it should not come out the people's money.
Yes, but only for people who truly can't pay for themselves.
Yes, but only for students who cannot afford college yet are wanting to further their education
If you earn a degree, your debts should be paid off
No, we're already way in debt.

Only if the programs the students are picking lead to jobs in high demand.
yes, but rich people can pay themselves
No, but pay for at least 2 years
Maybe, depends on how much the college is.
they should pay for half of it if you can not afford all of it.
yes, but provide scholarship opportunities to low income students
if they wont to have one there choice
First of all, I do believe that low income students should get more scholarship opportunities, I also believe the government should pay for collage books as they are way overpriced and just a dumb idea in general as you can find almost all the information online.
if the government knows you are in a bad place and they know you can't pay for it then they should maybe help out and help pay a little bit of the tuition and then you can be charged for the rest
only If you have a scholarship
No, but provide more affordable rates and scholarships, especially for people who cannot afford it.
Yes, if you participate in a extra-cirrcular activitie and they want to accept you because the university or college is going to pay and you can go for free if they heard you around the world.
I think they should lower the amount of tuition a student should pay. Make it affordable so that way when people get loans or scholarships they won't have to use a large amount of money.
Tuition should just be abolished. The only thing that should matter is someones education, not the state their from.
yes but only to those who can't afford it
no, but lower cost of tuition for low-income students
Sometimes if matters what kind of person they are.
I would say I don't think they should give one person more than what they need and give that money to other people that need it even more
they could support not fully pay
Need based scholarship of selected students and there should be an attempt to slightly lower the fees
tuition doesn't make any sense, just let people pay for the books are go.
the federal government should make education not exactly free but afordable to low income people.
Yes, only if they can prove that they actually want to do college such as GPA, or ACT/SAT scores
Yes, but they should create free government colleges so everybody has a choice and keep the private colleges pricey.
