No, but overhaul the current system, insurance companies should not be able to make massive profits while denying basic services to their clients.

 @9VK3WTY from Arizona  answered…7mos7MO

Yes but not until the healthcare industry is heavily regulated. Right now costs across the board in America for every aspect of the healthcare system are too high. If the government funds this for everyone, the tax burden put back on the citizens would be immeasurable.

 @9LD6CYN from Arizona  answered…1yr1Y

Healthcare should be conditional with mandatory military service and considered a right of all full-fledged citizens.

 @9J3JP2J  from Arizona  answered…1yr1Y

Yes, if certain conditions are met. Keep taxes minimal, ensure people will be able to get the medical treatment they need fast, and allow people to choose if they want this, private insurance, or none at all.

 @9DJY38W from Arizona  answered…2yrs2Y

No, while the government should have a hand in healthcare, the single-payer healthcare system could go wrong in a variety of ways and prove excessively expensive.

 @9GBBBBV from Arizona  answered…2yrs2Y

I do not have a substantial understanding of the current health care system and therefore I have no reason to believe that this is better or worse.

 @8QSBKB8 from Arizona  answered…4yrs4Y

No I believe that citizens should decide whether or not they want to be apart of the single-payer healthcare system, they should not be forced to pay for other people's healthcare.

 @7PD2Q7FSocialist from Missouri  commented…4yrs4Y

Yes, this system guarantees healthcare for everyone

How do you think private health insurance works??? You pay the insurance company to literally spend that money on other people as well as you, pocketing any profit they can get along the way. Making a single payer healthcare system simply puts that responsibility onto elected officials instead of bureaucratic insurance companies.

 @9B9NK2Q from Arizona  answered…2yrs2Y

yes, but everyone shoule also get a chance to be treated no matter how small

 @946R2CQ from Arizona  answered…3yrs3Y

Yes, but it should be affordable, high-quality healthcare, and you should still have the option of using a private company if unsatisfied. This system guarantees healthcare for everyone.

No, it provides poor care for the chronically ill, genetically ill, those with incurable diseases, or those with rare diseases (or so my British and Canadian online friends say)

 @8Z42CNWIndependent from Arizona  answered…3yrs3Y

No, having this type of health care makes it so it is harder for individuals to receive the care they need

 @8YTVC4TIndependent from Arizona  answered…3yrs3Y

yes if people can use private insurance if they want and this system will guarantee healthcare for everyone

 @8YTSZSL from Arizona  answered…3yrs3Y

Yes, but it should be an opt-in sort of situation in case some would rather use private insurance.

 @8YT9VZZ from Arizona  answered…3yrs3Y

They should create another branch to deal with civilian health concerns

 @8YMHFGY from Arizona  answered…3yrs3Y

 @8YL69T2 from Arizona  answered…3yrs3Y

No, medicaid is fine, as there are many who can't afford healthcare, but having the government give everyone free healthcare would be far too expensive for the government and the quality of that health care would have a devastating effect on the standards and quality of hospitals. It would lean America in a socialist direction, and that's bad.

 @8YK4XRJ from Arizona  answered…3yrs3Y

No, having the government in control of the healthcare of over 360 million people would cause a massive increase in taxes and whould cause massive job loss in the private sector. Also if the government can't leave a country without basically handing it over to terrorists on a silver plater I wouldnt trust them to properly do a brain surgery.

 @8YJGD5N from Arizona  answered…3yrs3Y

no they shouldn't. they shouldn't because it doesnt matter whos being told to pay it. if they don't wanna pay it they won't.

If Americans would quit cramming their faces and living unhealthy lifestyles and would live healthy so they didn't need to live off health care because they are so fat then I would be more for it.

 @8XTT623 from Arizona  answered…3yrs3Y

Yes, private companies shouldn't be able to profit from ALL healthcare.

 @schnettlerPeace and Freedom from Arizona  answered…4yrs4Y

Yes and no. I do agree with some aspects on the single-payer healthcare system, however I do not think taxes should go up (have to re-budget), but I do not like the idea of a monopoly when it comes to healthcare. I do think that it would be fantastic that all people would have coverage and we would be healthier as a country, however it is worry-some that the government would have all of the control, they get to set the pay and what/how it covers illnesses.

 @8W9CCMR from Arizona  answered…4yrs4Y

All health care should be free and so should the education to treat others

I believe single payer healthcare would be best because if government gets too involved with our personal health I believe it can be dangerous

 @JillSlv from Arizona  answered…4yrs4Y

Yes, as a base healthcare for those who really need it, but people should be able to choose to use private insurance.

 @8V937ZZ from Arizona  answered…4yrs4Y

No, but mostly because I don't trust the government to do so with any degree of competence

 @8V7X93P from Arizona  answered…4yrs4Y

 @8V73FN7 from Arizona  answered…4yrs4Y

No, I have grown up in a free market and so support one, but also believe that the government needs to have a hand in helping people too.

 @8V3FGJX from Arizona  answered…4yrs4Y

yes, but the fee should be low considering the people that don't have healthcare also don't have the money to pay more taxes

 @8TS33CK from Arizona  answered…4yrs4Y

People who elect to not use public healthcare should not have to pay for others to get public healthcare.

 @8TS25BX from Arizona  answered…4yrs4Y

 @8TQTT9Y from Arizona  answered…4yrs4Y

Its to long a wait for many people with cheaper or universal healthcare have wait lines that are months long and if that's the case its not worth it.

 @8TQRGFF from Arizona  answered…4yrs4Y

No, because this system typically involves a long waiting list, which causes some people to die if they're on the waiting list for too long.

 @8SK8XW7 from Arizona  answered…4yrs4Y

I think that it would unify everyone's health care as long as people who can pay for their own be allowed the option to have their own. And Hostpitals should be free or at least mostly free (tests shouldn't cost hundreds to thousands of dollars)

 @8SJWS6X from Arizona  answered…4yrs4Y

While some countries seem to have it work well. I don’t think it will work well because we are too big. Also I think he would have to cut immigration. I’d say possibly if it allows private insurance as an option still.

 @8SJCV26 from Arizona  answered…4yrs4Y

 @8S839JJPeace and Freedom from Arizona  answered…4yrs4Y

No, you should do the universal healthcare system because it's more helpful for everyone.

 @8S66FYD from Arizona  answered…4yrs4Y

If the government gets involved, instead of giving money to worthless causes and to other countries then yeah, they should put money into the healthcare systems.

 @8RNQM6C from Arizona  answered…4yrs4Y

Private companies should not be profiting off certain things done in hospitals but they need to sustain itself and pay doctors. Also no government whatsoever.

 @8QPH7D4 from Arizona  answered…4yrs4Y

I'm more on the fence with this one, since the government may not always be reliable when it comes to health of the citizens.

 @8QHGYC8 from Arizona  answered…4yrs4Y

It depends on each person for people who are not able they should have help

 @8QGXYWB from Arizona  answered…4yrs4Y

i think that people should have the right to have a Private healthcare services and if they cant afford that then get the other one for free.

 @8Q8K5B2 from Arizona  answered…4yrs4Y

Yes, as long as people can use private insurance and aren't required to pay into the system.

 @8PQX7DR from Arizona  answered…4yrs4Y

Not really, we need to take a half step like Sweden to see if it universal healthcare would work for us.

 @8PQN9YL from Arizona  answered…4yrs4Y

 @8PQJDVW from Arizona  answered…4yrs4Y

 @8PG98ZC from Arizona  answered…4yrs4Y

No, healthcare should either be entirely private, or entirely government controlled.

 @8NRXHDB from Arizona  answered…5yrs5Y

This is the wrong question. First we have to decide which forms of healthcare are a universal right (ie. antibiotics for simple infections, well-checks, corrective lenses, etc.). These would be universal things that all people have a right to that are funded by the masses. After that is decided, the second tier healthcare things would require people to purchase insurance to cover major medical issues. This would be a constantly evolving system as technology and medicine improve over time. People would also have the responsibility not to partake in activities that knowingly increase health problems or their "free" things would become part of their responsibility to pay for (ex. smokers waive right to lung cancer treatment and have to pay partial coverage for respiratory disease/infection treatment).

 @8NQ5DY9Libertarian from Arizona  answered…5yrs5Y

The government should provide "catastrophic" insurance to all, and subsidize upgrades to the lowest income. Others should be able to buy private insurance to supplement their catastrophic insurance.

 @jggarc11Independent from Arizona  answered…5yrs5Y

Maybe? A free market approach needs to be taken first, (I.e. making prices transparent) to reduce costs first, then if that doesn’t work, implement a single payer system

 @8LFNX6Z from Arizona  answered…5yrs5Y

 @8F5Q48Q from Arizona  answered…5yrs5Y

It should be allowed for people who can't consistently pay for healthcare.

 @8F2MS7H from Arizona  answered…5yrs5Y

Allow people to choose but not require it. People should be able to choose if they want government or private insurance. But don’t require people that don’t want government insurance to pay the government so others can get insurance.

Yes, but only if it operates at a market baseline to private healthcare. Privatization allows for more competition, innovation, so should still be an option.

 @8DSTVCC from Arizona  answered…5yrs5Y

I dont even know what this means honestly it's just healthcare my guy, but we still need to be gucci in health, i don't wanna die at this age I need to see my dream of schools going away.

 @8DQGSZ4 from Arizona  answered…5yrs5Y

not for me to choose who ever is paying should because depends on the situation and if they can afford this or not.

 @8DBQZ8S from Arizona  answered…5yrs5Y

 @8D5J6WV from Arizona  answered…5yrs5Y

I both agree and disagree. I agree because every US citizen should have the opportunity to get healthcare but I disagree because the government shouldn’t have to pay for it it’s too expensive and we have other thing I was agree and disagree. I agree because every US citizen should have the opportunity to get healthcare but I disagree because the government shouldn’t have to pay for it it’s too expensive

 @8D3J4SZ from Arizona  answered…5yrs5Y

I do not think the government should be involved in healthcare except to create policies that keep costs reasonable. I think the competition between states for health insurance would lower costs. I think there should be caps on lawsuits and I think hospitals should be transparent about costs. Prescription drugs that are necessary for life should be regulated as other monopolies are.
