Single-payer healthcare is a system where every citizen pays the government to provide core healthcare services for all residents. Under this system the government may provide the care themselves or pay a private healthcare provider to do so. In a single-payer system all residents receive healthcare regardless of age, income or health status. Countries with single-payer healthcare systems include the U.K., Canada, Taiwan, Israel, France, Belarus, Russia and Ukraine.

yes if people can use private insurance if they want and this system will guarantee healthcare for everyone
@8YT9VZZ3yrs3Y
They should create another branch to deal with civilian health concerns

No, having the government in control of the healthcare of over 360 million people would cause a massive increase in taxes and whould cause massive job loss in the private sector. Also if the government can't leave a country without basically handing it over to terrorists on a silver plater I wouldnt trust them to properly do a brain surgery.

No, I have grown up in a free market and so support one, but also believe that the government needs to have a hand in helping people too.
@8V3FGJX4yrs4Y
yes, but the fee should be low considering the people that don't have healthcare also don't have the money to pay more taxes
@8Q8K5B24yrs4Y
Yes, as long as people can use private insurance and aren't required to pay into the system.
@8PG98ZC4yrs4Y
No, healthcare should either be entirely private, or entirely government controlled.
@jggarc11Independent5yrs5Y
Maybe? A free market approach needs to be taken first, (I.e. making prices transparent) to reduce costs first, then if that doesn’t work, implement a single payer system
@8DXLPGQ5yrs5Y
I dont have enough knowledge about this topic to decide
@8DTNHT75yrs5Y
I don't really have a stance on this

@96RKVP72yrs2Y
Yes, but this system would be too costly to implement currently
@98V7KG52yrs2Y
Yes, as long as it doesn't decrease access to care already available currently and doesn't mirror the Canadian medical system or the VHA.
