Yes and No because burning the flag means both respect and disrespect depending on the situation as in a memorial or just because they have hatred against or for it. I would say yes, but it would be fine if it was in a memorial respectful way since its the country we are in.

there are reasons to like putting a worn down flag to rest, but making it illegal is a violation of free speech

I think if you are retiring the flag than it is okay. However if you are doing it as an act of defiance than that is like a hate crime and you should be punished for that.

The flag should only be burned when it is going to be retired - not for any other reason.

No, people should be allowed to do so if they want. And for many people respectfully burning a flag is a way to honor it's service and retire it properly.

if you are burning it just to burn it because you dont like it yes it should. but if you do it in a respectfull way no it should not be illegal

If a flag is reap old and not in good condition, it shouldn’t matter. But if the flag is post and there malicious act, it should be criminal

 @8Z6JB6K from Utah  answered…3yrs3Y

Yes, unless it is showing a sign of respect such as the flag landing on the ground

yes but only when retiring the flag, and it should be done with reverence and respect

Burning an American flag to protest an issue is pointless. It does little to change an opposing group's opinion and simply inflames the emotions of those involved. Better to look at what the flag is supposed to represent and finding common ground to resolve the issue. The closing words to the Pledge of Allegiance would be a good place to start.

yes, unless it was touched by the ground and in that case it wouldn't be as long as you have witness proof that it did and some type of authority would be the ones to burn it

It should be illegal if burned with hostile intentions and if burned without proper respect and gratitude shown.

It is legal to burn the flag when it is no longer fit or can no longer go on a flagpole. It is the most dignified way of disposing of a well used flag.

 @8PR2R64 from Utah  answered…4yrs4Y

It should only be burned for a specific reason such as if it has a hole or a tear in it, but a new clean flag should not be burnt

 @8M84W4C from Utah  answered…5yrs5Y

No as longer as the owner gives permission or is the one burning the flag
