This should be common practice and required by the sellers (i.e. grocery stores) and consumers of the product prior to buying the product but not be required by the government

I would ban GMO’s except where terrain and climate prevents non-GMO crops from being sustainable to prevent famines.

 @9GPMHDBProgressive from North Carolina  answered…2yrs2Y

I think GMO's are a good thing as it could solve world hunger and reduce our environmental footprint. However, I think GMO's should still be labeled because people should know what they're consuming just like how most food have an ingredients list.

 @9FDPH9WProgressive from North Carolina  answered…2yrs2Y

Yes, producers should have labels on their food, but genetic engineering can produce crops that can survive extreme weather (especially with the looming threat of climate change); also, it can be used to create crops that are resistant to insect pests, have longer shelf lives, & are resistant to pollution

 @9F83QJQ from North Carolina  answered…2yrs2Y

Yes. We have selectively bred crops for thousands of years but consumers have the right to know.

 @9J9YQCF from North Carolina  answered…1yr1Y

Yes, because the genetic modification of certain crops can lead to unexpected allergic reactions in certain populations.

 @94HNMJG from North Carolina  answered…3yrs3Y

Consumers have a right to know what's in their food, though producers shouldn't be patenting them. We have already modified crops by artificial selection, anyway.

 @93CGLPP from North Carolina  answered…3yrs3Y

I think people need to be educated on gmos. An orange is a "gmo". The concept of bananas ... bananas where genetically modified to be the way we eat them today.

 @8ZNN4JQ from North Carolina  answered…3yrs3Y

yes just like how products say from concentrate or not from concentrate though this is comparing apples to pears in the grand scheme of things any process to which a food is made from weather it be from Concentrate.. not from concentrate... natural selection or GMO's all have the right to be labeled and let the people decide if they want it or not

 @8Y52RXD from North Carolina  answered…3yrs3Y

The FDA shouldn’t be trusted in certifying these things and instead the free market can incentivize the food labeling process.

 @8WT5HJQ from North Carolina  answered…4yrs4Y

Yes, I trust GMOs but generally consumers should be told whats in their food

 @8WPFKGW from North Carolina  answered…4yrs4Y

 @8V8XG5XLibertarian from North Carolina  answered…4yrs4Y

Look at least make them aware. if you not I'm pretty sure that's lying and is incredibly illegal if you deny it

 @8RV78VP from North Carolina  answered…4yrs4Y

Yes so in case certain people like to eat and feed themselves and there families GMO free products

 @8RSDXD2 from North Carolina  answered…4yrs4Y

Yes, consumers have a right to know what is in their food even though science shows that GMO's are not harmful.

 @8RQ8MHK from North Carolina  answered…4yrs4Y

foods should not be marked as a GMO product unless there is something that could hurt someone for example people with allergies

Yes, they should be required to label foods as GMOs if the percent of modified genetics is over a given percent and, for all GMOs, have an option to go to a website for more detailed information on how a specific food is modified and give a better understanding to the customer on why it's modified.

 @8FPFPRF from North Carolina  answered…5yrs5Y

companies shouldn't be forced to but market forces may push companies to do sk

 @8FMYZPZ from North Carolina  answered…5yrs5Y

Yes, I am fine with GMO's but consumers have a right to now what is in their food

 @8CSTNNV from North Carolina  answered…5yrs5Y

I think we need to do more current studies on the benefits and effects of GMO’s, labeling them while working to educate the public on the downside of “organic” and “natural” labeling.

 @8C7TXRP from North Carolina  answered…5yrs5Y

 @9C5DMJ8 from North Carolina  answered…2yrs2Y

Consumers should get to know what they are buying and what they are about to put into there body.

I believe that genetically engineering crops is fine, yet I do not find it healthy, sustaining, moral, or safe to be inject/feed animals growth hormones, nor do I believe that we as humans should be consuming those animals and all of the chemicals and hormones that have been forced into the animal.

 @98NFL56 from North Carolina  answered…2yrs2Y

No, as we have been having GMO foods our whole lives without GMO bananas and most fruits and vegetables wouldn't be what they are today

 @98DL8T7 from North Carolina  answered…2yrs2Y

I think that this is important for people that are allergic to certian ingredients in food, and telling how what has been modified and added could help people in the future.

 @982X8Q5 from North Carolina  answered…2yrs2Y

Yes, it could harm some people or their diets to not know what's in their food

 @97N77B2 from North Carolina  answered…3yrs3Y

Yes, because it is important for customers to know what is being put and grown into their food. Not everything that is being put into their food is the most healthiest for them. They also affect the crop and insect. Some use fertilizers to retract insects and animals but it affects our food.

 @97JSVPM from North Carolina  answered…3yrs3Y

I feel like it’s not bad but I know some people would like to know what is in their food.

 @972CPPZ from North Carolina  answered…3yrs3Y

Not all producers should be able to do GMO. I think if producers wanna do GMO, they would have to get a GMO license before they do GMOs on their products and put a GMO label on their product.

 @93P6YND from North Carolina  answered…3yrs3Y

 @93CMPHF from North Carolina  answered…3yrs3Y

No, due to the way GMOs are like in some country's should label more consistently
