Yes, but proof of address should not be a requirement to obtain an ID.P.O. Box should be sufficient.

 @9J777PD from Colorado  answered…1yr1Y

No, not until we have a national ID issued to every citizen upon birth. Like how social security numbers are already used.

 @9DPDW5J from Colorado  answered…2yrs2Y

No because it will stop people from mail-in voting which allows more people to easily vote.

No, and automatically register every citizen to vote when they turn 18, make Election Day a national holiday, and make voting mandatory for every citizen with limited exceptions

 @96MHZT4Democrat from Colorado  answered…3yrs3Y

No, there should be other systems in place to prevent voter fraud then simply providing a photo ID. Voter fraud is real. Don’t deny it.

 @96BGMBQ from Colorado  answered…3yrs3Y

Yes, but it should be paid for by the state(as well as the transportation), and given a paid holiday to get one.

 @963NFDS from Colorado  answered…3yrs3Y

Yes, but they should also accept birth certificate or proof of citizenship in lieu of photo ID

Yes, but remove the barrier to entry for any taxpayer to acquire a photo ID.

 @92ZB35KIndependent from Colorado  answered…3yrs3Y

Yes, but photo ID needs to be cheaper and more assessable to poorer communities.

 @8YKPMXW from Colorado  answered…3yrs3Y

No, but the citizen should have some proof of who they are and where they live, like an electric bill or something.

If someone looks suspicious or like they are likely going to commit some sort of fraud then yes

Only in communities who believe it is necessary for inclusion. Every government beyond the local level should be abolished.

 @8P8T5WH from Colorado  answered…5yrs5Y

Yes, but should be provided free by the government so all social economic classes are able to vote

 @8NQ34ZC from Colorado  answered…5yrs5Y

 @8N5YBHR from Colorado  answered…5yrs5Y

No, but create an identity option for those who do not or cannot have an ID so that they can vote

 @8LKVFMZ from Colorado  answered…5yrs5Y

Yes, only if they have the resources to obtain one. If not they should be given access to obtain one.

 @8HJSLCFLibertarian from Colorado  answered…5yrs5Y

Yes. But social Security cards, Birth Certificates, and even utility Bill's should be allowed as alternate ID.

If and only if all the unnecessary roadblocks that currently exist and prevent people from easily obtaining photo ID are totally wiped out, then I don't see why not. I'm not at all worried about fraud, but this might help with mistakes on for instance giving the wrong John Doe a ballot, then the other one gets turned away because he 'already voted' or something. But until it's just as easy for one person to get a photo id as the next, they shouldn't be required.

 @8FQ5VYM from Colorado  answered…5yrs5Y

Yes, but ensure that any citizen without a valid photo ID can easily obtain one

Separate IDs for voting should not be required, but the use of a Social Security number or driver's license is perfectly reasonable

Yes, but if a state wishes to require photo ID, ID cards should be issued at no cost to all registered voters

Yes, if the state issues free photo ID cards to every citizen before they can vote.

I.D. or a thumbprint. The picture ID can be taken at high school, police stations, post offices, libraries, city and county offices, DMV's, recreation centers or any other place that is open to the public and funded by the public.

 @99GWC63 from Colorado  answered…2yrs2Y

Yes, for the sake of proving you are a citizen only. Other forms of ID are also allowed.

 @98R6R49 from Colorado  answered…2yrs2Y

 @98PQ7WB from Colorado  answered…2yrs2Y

It doesn’t really matter? Most people have id and if they are disadvantaged to obtain one that is the actual issue, not requiring id a voting booths

 @9763SL4 from Colorado  answered…3yrs3Y

 @96WPSV5 from Colorado  answered…3yrs3Y

Photo ID should be a requirement, but for those with barriers to obtaining one should be able to provide two other verification documents as an alternative

Yes but make it easier to obtain an ID for those who are financially unable to do so
