9>9 Personal answerYes but, this is the fifth Amendment to the Constitution so we can't take that away however, if it's not for vehicular traffic transportations schools or government-owned prisons, all other uses of eminent domain should require long long-term lease agreements if the owner is unwilling to sell. For profit businesses pipelines transmission lines those are all for profit and they can lease the land because they are somewhat necessary they do bring in tax revenue but that should not give them automatic ownership of somebody else's property. It would also be better for the communities if they leased the land that was necessary to be used because the communities could then tax the business which is the justification for allowing businesses to take land, and the person collecting on the lease. Whenever they're done and move away whether it's 10 years or 200 that land still remains in their family. The land owner can still control the terms of the lease |
