No, I don't believe that's states should display the flag, but I also don't think that it's up to the federal government to mandate this rule.

The federal govt should have no say in it, but I hope the states will ban the flag.

Yes, It's symbol of hatred but it should be for the people of that state to decide.

I don't think states should fly the confederate flag on public/government property, but I don't think it is the federal government's place to decide for them.

The Confederate flag alone should not be flown, we are the Untied States of America. But those states that have aspects of the Conderate flag as part of their already existing state flag should not be forced to change to change their state flag.

Yes, it's actually helpful for decent people to be able to decide where NOT to move to if the state broadcasts it's ignorant racist nature with a flag.

It should be considered treason to fly the battle flag of another nation that was at war with the U.S.

 @2Q3D99Yfrom Wyoming answered…3yrs3Y

I fail to see where the federal govt. has any authority to ban the confederate flag, much less anything else in the several states. States Rights people!

A Federal ban could apply to Federal property. But, the Federal ban could also withhold Federal funds to states that do not meet minimum Federal standards.

growing up in the 70's we knew it was also used for hate groups but we always saw it as southern pride. it was more a reminder that the north came in and fought us and even though we lost we still had our pride kind of thing.
