The government SHOULD raise the federal minimum wage. As costs of living rise, and minimum wage is not adjusted for inflation, it gets harder and harder for people to support themselves and their family's basic needs.

Everyone deserves the right to have a living wage and be able to support themselves. People shouldn't have to have multiple jobs and get paid less than a livable amount of money while corporations have increasing profits.

I agree, the minimum wage should raised. Almost everything in America involving money has gone up exponentially with the exception of the minimum wage. In the 60’s, in today’s money, a house costs 104,000$ while the average house price today is 200,000$ and over.

I agree. The cost of living has risen but wage has not. it is a struggle just to get by even if you make what is considered "high pay". It's not a high pay if you have to choose between getting gas for your car and eating.

I think the minimum wage needs to be raised because people working full-time hours are barely making enough for food alone.

The cost of milk in Maine is $4.28/gallon, but the cost of milk in Texas is only $2.62/gallon. This is only one example of a difference in the cost of living from state to state. The largest example is the cost of housing which greatly varies from state to state.

If we do not have a position on minimum wage inflation will only increase with current wages staying the same and the public will only get poorer and the economy will only worsen.
my best counter argument is that states have different needs and among other things it would help albiet not much

“among other things it would help albiet not much”
Depending on what it is raised to, it would help quite a lot...

Minimum wage jobs are about learning and starting out in he working world, however, I do believe that depending on the job wages should change.
@B23SJSH7mos7MO
yes the government should raise the federal minimum wage because everyone deserves a wage they can live on instead of living paycheck to paycheck.

The people of the USA are working so hard for meager pay, this can lead to a massive strike. Other countries already have more rights for workers, like allowing unlimited sick leave, higher pay, more protections from unlawful layoffs and workplace retaliation, and provide better working conditions.
@B536SWG2mos2MO
The current minimum wage is skewed against employees who add value to the employer. Fixing basic living expenses by publicly funding education and Healthcare mitigates some individual expenses making a lower minimum wage palatable; however, an extremely low minimum wage fails to encourage employee permanence.
@B3T4ND94mos4MO
If you raise the minimum wage, then maybe people will actually be able to afford to live. Inflation has risen over 200 PERCENT and people CANNOT AFFORD TO LIVE
@9LFTMGC1yr1Y
Minimum wage should be increased due to the high amounts of single parents and students that need money.
@B27TYQ4 6mos6MO
As costs of living and the price of goods and services increase day by day, if wages stagnate, people are less likely to be able to afford to live. By increasing the federal minimum wage, more people would have more money in their pockets, meaning they would be better able to keep up with inflation.
@9LSNC5N1yr1Y
Everything is getting more expensive and the minimum wage is not changing, so people will rarely be able to buy a lot of things that they need.
@9GVHVYP 2yrs2Y
Its important for the minimum wage to be raised because prices keep rising, rent continues to rise and everything is becoming more expensive. Its only right that people are paid more to keep up.
@9G6GDDN2yrs2Y
You can't really argue with this, they are taking a neutral stance and obviously do not care about the topic
