Since inflation is rising most Americans who get paid minimum wage can’t afford basic living rights, even if they work just as hard if not harder than everybody else.

I completely agree with this comment about minimum wage. As prices for basic necessities rise, minimum stays the same. It has gotten to the point that we can barely afford rent.
@9GJ4V472yrs2Y
Minimum wage should be increased because other living expenses have not decreased to accommodate for the current inflation.

Other countries provide similar goods to those in America at same or lower prices while paying their employees a higher wage.
As the cost of living continues to rise, it becomes increasingly more impossible for people to even live

Inflation and cost of living is almost double of what someone who is making federal minium wage is receiving.
@B4WHPDG2mos2MO
Every individual should be granted a minimum wage that guarantees that they will be able to survive. The minimum wage ensures that they are at least being paid a fair amount, and aren’t being completely taken advantage of.

The people in the working class, especially the ones who actually make minimum wage, need money.
The minimum wage now barely covers anything with the government's constant inflation.
If inflation rates have continually increased since the last federal minimum wage increase, why have we not increased minimum wage to match those inflation rates? I understand why we can't just hyper inflate the minimum wage, but considering that our minimum wage hasn't been increased since 2009, and our rate of inflation has increased cumulatively since 2009 36.41% the least we could do is see an increase all things considered.

If you think there should be no minimum wage I just, feel like you hate human beings. I can't explain truely but just, that feels inhuman.
@B3SQ7YGIndependent4mos4MO
A lot of wealth is concentrated in a select few while millions live below a good standard of living. These billionaires could help end poverty in some areas yet they hold onto their wealth. Minimum wage should be increased, at least to a good standard of living.
@B3Q696F4mos4MO
The people who need more money are the people with minimum wage jobs, not the rich people with the higher paying jobs.
@B38JS374mos4MO
Workers should have fair and equal pay, minimum wage should be increased. I support Senator Bernie Sanders on this issue.
@B373NHNProgressive4mos4MO
Getting money into the hands of the class who spends it funnels more money into the active economy, as opposed to letting it stay in the hands of the wealthy, who hoard and stagnate it. Wealth only trickles down when the wealthy are bleeding.
@B2HCKYJ6mos6MO
More discretionary income for lower and middle class people will allow for more money to flow through the economy and allow new sectors to develop.
@B2GWSN26mos6MO
Minimum wage is not able to cover the cost of living in today's America but it should be able to cover those costs.
@B2GCBC56mos6MO
All workers deserve to make enough to meet their basic needs, regardless of the job they perform. Workers are the ones who produce all of society’s wealth, therefore they should be the ones to enjoy it
@9ZS5DY77mos7MO
The idea that only *certain* people are allowed the dignity and respect to earn enough money to live is shameful.
Regardless of who they are, everyone deserves a livable wage.
@9ZQGCX68mos8MO
With inflation running rampant throughout the country we need to give the working class a higher wage to match this competitive rise in prices.
@9ZPLYK68mos8MO
The reason minimum wage should be raised is because many family's live on minimum wage and as everything is increasing in cost how will those families live if they barely earn enough for themselves?
@B2M8XGT5mos5MO
Minimum wage is a check against firms’ ability to exploit labor. People are entitled to a livable wage and that wage should reflect the economic conditions of the time in which workers live.
People are being forced to work multiple jobs we should not be slaving for hours and hours on end for just the right to eat and live
@B33XJMP5mos5MO
The current minimum wage is the same that it has been for years. Prices continue to go up so wages should go up as well to provide a liveable
@WordFile 4mos4MO
Many college-educated people can only get a minimum-wage job in the current job market, so this should be enough to live on. It would also give people in jobs that pay the bare minimum to survive more bargaining power since they would have the option to switch to an easier position for the same pay.
@B2BYZVGProgressive6mos6MO
Honestly, I don't really care. If people can't see that they're being conned out of their money by the wealthy there isn't much room to argue the point.
@9YHQ8MF8mos8MO
People can’t make rent on minimum wage, even when working full time. People deserve to be able to save money without having to live paycheck to paycheck.
@9G6FT9L2yrs2Y
I think fast food and small buisness workers deal with a lot and they deserve to get compensated for that.
