Employers and employees should be allow to negotiate wages with no interference from the government

 @B75QVGN from Wisconsin  answered…3wks3W

i think that it would be wonderful to increase the fedral min wage but it might be at a cost of does everything else get more expensive with it will the new wage still be a problem will the 12.50 min wage go to 15 and people are still struggling and just a soda will cost 5$

 @B74MDDH from Wisconsin  answered…3wks3W

I think it should be re-evaluated as the economy changes but there are secondary effects that could be negative as a result of raising minimum wage. This in turn would increase the cost of labor and corporations could have to make cuts and hire less people because of this increase which basically puts us back in the same situation.

 @B4D3V6L from Wisconsin  answered…6mos6MO

yes for certain jobs they should up the amount of minimum wage but for other jobs they should stay the same

 @B3WP7QR from Wisconsin  answered…7mos7MO

I think the minimum wage should be a living wage and adjusted according to inflation, but ALSO according to the cost of living in a particular area.

 @B3WHNRK from Wisconsin  answered…7mos7MO

Raising minimum wage being raised would just make inflation worse so we'd have to find a way to make it not affect inflation

 @9XQHFXWWomen’s Equality from Wisconsin  answered…11mos11MO

No, they need to put a cap on how much goods cost so that we don’t have to keep upping minimum wage. It doesn’t help to raise minimum wage and then corporations raise prices on goods.

 @9XNTTGT from Wisconsin  answered…11mos11MO

Yes, but only adjust it according to inflation. Increasing too much or too frequently will cause prices to increase in a never ending cycle.

 @9XK3KXD from Wisconsin  answered…11mos11MO

I think they should raise the minimum wage but slowly and make sure that it doesn't;t ruin the entire economy.

 @9WVL3DZIndependent from Wisconsin  answered…12mos12MO

Minimum wage should be a guideline and adjusted every year for inflation by location. This should be public knowledge so people and companies understand exactly what is cost to live in an area.

 @9WLFCJX from Wisconsin  answered…12mos12MO

I do not think that there should be a minimum wage, if you want to earn more either get another job, or work harder to get a raise. minimum wage takes away the ability for owners and managers to pay those who work harder what they deserve

 @7K6TCVLPeace and Freedom  from Wisconsin  answered…12mos12MO

Yes but the govt should also work harder to give people options to better themselves with education and career progression so they do not end up in minimum wage jobs that are meant for experience development and young people entering the work force.

 @9VQ7R7YNo Labels from Wisconsin  answered…12mos12MO

Yes especially with the inflation, people are struggling to afford things if on a minimum wage salery

 @9VGGJBPLibertarian from Wisconsin  answered…1yr1Y

It's a long overdue conversation to have in a serious manner. Not an arbitrary political talking point

 @9TLL5YJ from Wisconsin  answered…1yr1Y

Yes, make it a more livable wage but still on the low end because those jobs should be gaining experience not supporting a family but not everybody can get another job if they are homeless or sick for example

 @9TFXF7V from Wisconsin  answered…1yr1Y

No because when Donald Trump gets elected inflation should go down and everything should become more affordable.

 @9TC45LJNo Labels from Wisconsin  answered…1yr1Y

I believe that if increased it will continue to cause a never ending circle but something should to be done about cost of living

 @9RLPHBWIndependent from Wisconsin  answered…1yr1Y

I have a theory. If we increase the minimum wage then people will get slowly complacent with say $15/Hour, which in turn will lead to corporations being less competitive with their wages. If this is wrong or just not true, then I think we should increase it so people can at least afford a place to live.

 @9R8K3RM from Wisconsin  answered…1yr1Y

Raising the federal minimum wage wouldn't fix the underlying issue. You need to make it so people can afford to have a living wage. Based on that city's in State standards of living.

 @9R7Z98DDemocrat from Wisconsin  answered…1yr1Y

Minimum wage should be a livable wage but not make the middle and upper class wage be less advanced. Inflation and prices should be decreased to a reasonable standard again.

 @9NMQ9Y8 from Wisconsin  answered…1yr1Y

No, minimum wage isn't to live on. Companies should be required to give raises to employees based on inflation and how much the company makes in a year. Or saves in tax loopholes.

 @9MYTJ3Y from Wisconsin  answered…1yr1Y

Yes and no. I think we should raise minimum wage depending how old you are. Because teens are making way too much now because of high minimum wages.

 @9MM844W from Wisconsin  answered…1yr1Y

No, if we raise minimum wage it will raise cost of living and make everything more expensive, therefore harder to keep out of debt and harder to support a family.

 @9M8QVMH from Wisconsin  answered…1yr1Y

minimum wage should be the same around all states counties and cities it shouldn't be 7.50 in one state and 14.50 in another...

 @9LLLNW4 from Wisconsin  answered…1yr1Y

It is neither beneficial nor harmful, as the cost of living would go up in accordance with the minimum wage.

 @9KPKSX6 from Wisconsin  answered…2yrs2Y

I think have a even playing field. For the US for example Iowa minimum pay wage it I believe $7.25ish. I believe people should make a decision to an extent because it depends.

 @9K9PQRN  from Wisconsin  answered…2yrs2Y

Yes, and adjust it every year and also adjust it based on the areas that need adjusting like in rural vs urban areas or in cities vs villages.

 @9JLS5L4 from Wisconsin  answered…2yrs2Y

You shouldn't have to if you stop inflation and taxes and go back to original prices and not steal money from the people that are supposed to trust you.

 @9JJ9Q2F from Wisconsin  answered…2yrs2Y

I believe the government can’t force/require any standards or mandates on any business. Businesses should be allowed to determine their own wages, based on things like: skills, experience, or schooling. If someone doesn’t like their job, try a different path. If there weren’t so many regulations on businesses capitalism would work properly.

 @9JGP3CT from Wisconsin  answered…2yrs2Y

No, minimum wage is for the "unskilled" workers such as fast food, and more. increasing minimum wage would only increase inflation and cause the cost of living to go up causing the value of the dollar to keep decreasing.

 @9JFJQCG from Wisconsin  answered…2yrs2Y

Minimum wage is a blanket to start. Each state needs to set its own minimum wage based on. Cost of living.

 @9J3WJMD from Wisconsin  answered…2yrs2Y

Yes, and make it a living wage that will decrease over time due to the cost of living decreasing until we get to the point where we can implement a Universal Basic Needs program

 @9HVK78P from Wisconsin  answered…2yrs2Y

It would depend on the person. If someone physically does not do a lot of jobs and is barely surviving, then yes. But if there was someone who had a lot of opportunities in life and wasted it, then no.

 @9GZL74C from Wisconsin  answered…2yrs2Y

America should raise the wage according to location. Some areas are more expensive than others so they would need to have wage that matches area of living and overall living conditions.

 @9GQ5LWB from Wisconsin  answered…2yrs2Y

Only if companies are penalized for making record profits because of raising their rates to make up for the increased wages.

 @89K7SX2  from Wisconsin  answered…2yrs2Y

A living wage is needed in some areas and in some states. It should not be uniform and probably should be fought by unions.

 @9FFGM9P from Wisconsin  answered…2yrs2Y

Companies, within reason, should control their own pay with little interference and adding wages lowers the value of the dollar which means prices will increase

 @9DZD8LQ from Wisconsin  answered…2yrs2Y

 @7PTCG38Democrat  from Wisconsin  answered…2yrs2Y

Yes, and make it a living wage that is tied to a yearly inflation adjustment

 @9DTKH89 from Wisconsin  answered…2yrs2Y

 @9DP938P from Wisconsin  answered…2yrs2Y

Not necessarily, but it should definitely be indexed to inflation and changed accordingly.

 @989NVT3 from Wisconsin  answered…3yrs3Y

It doesn't matter get a good paying job and don't waste your life.

  @VulcanMan6  from Kansas  commented…3yrs3Y

Yes, and make it a living wage

If everyone just "got a good-paying job" then who would serve you food and stock your grocery stores..?

 @8WKXSZP from Wisconsin  answered…4yrs4Y

 @9G85B5MWomen’s Equality from Wisconsin  answered…2yrs2Y

It should be a living wage that adjusts every year according to inflation. This should hopefully make it so people don't have to work 3 jobs to live comfortably

 @9BKJWTB from Wisconsin  answered…2yrs2Y

 @99YDWLSLibertarian from Wisconsin  answered…3yrs3Y

 @99Y7CGXRepublican from Wisconsin  answered…3yrs3Y

No. They should not be raised, they should just be equal throughout all employees. At least when starting.

 @98VTBV7 from Wisconsin  answered…3yrs3Y

 @96C6HSX from Wisconsin  answered…3yrs3Y

Yes but if people were given to get payed higher, they should get taxed more.

 @96BXY9H from Wisconsin  answered…3yrs3Y

yes, raise the minimum wage a little bit to about $10 or maybe even a little higher, that way the small businesses don't get shut down because they cant afford to pay there employees

 @965CB9V from Wisconsin  answered…3yrs3Y

yes but only by a little bit or employers are going to let off a lot of workers and inflation could get really bad

 @7PTCG38Democrat from Wisconsin  answered…3yrs3Y

Yes, and adjust it every year according to inflation. Allow individual states to raise the wage if the cost of living in their area necessitates it

 @95ZT2Q6 from Wisconsin  answered…3yrs3Y

No, businesses should be able to raise and lower minimum wages on their own.

 @95QGWS3 from Wisconsin  answered…3yrs3Y

I think all states should have the same rule of raising the minimum wage. I think that if it's going to be raised though, it shouldn't be a huge jump between.

 @95MWPDS from Wisconsin  answered…3yrs3Y

I think every state should have the same minimum wage. If they raise it at all, it should be a huge jump though.

 @95CJCL6 from Wisconsin  answered…3yrs3Y

 @959QBGN from Wisconsin  answered…3yrs3Y

 @94X2HQZ from Wisconsin  answered…3yrs3Y

Yes, adjust yearly according to inflation, but always at a living wage.

 @9468KNY from Wisconsin  answered…3yrs3Y

 @945GMKY from Wisconsin  answered…3yrs3Y

A little more to be fair as that is a lot of people main source of income

 @942N2HH from Wisconsin  answered…3yrs3Y

It should be a living wage based on the cost of living in that particular area.

 @93XYWTX from Wisconsin  answered…3yrs3Y

It should rise with inflation but every 5 or 10 years instead of every year.

 @93TLWN2 from Wisconsin  answered…3yrs3Y

 @93DLDGN from Wisconsin  answered…3yrs3Y

No, the federal government cannot and should not mandate a minimum wage, because cost of living standards throughout the United state are drastically different and throwing a blanket requirement across the country does not fix the problem
. While i am against a federal minimum wage i do believe each state should set a bar that is acceptable and helps raise the overall economic prosperity of all its citizens.

 @93CYW3R from Wisconsin  answered…3yrs3Y

 @939S84Z from Wisconsin  answered…3yrs3Y

Yes, and make it both a living wage and adjust it every year for inflation

 @9393WY5 from Wisconsin  answered…3yrs3Y

Raise the federal minimum wage standard to $10 but adjust it to inflation.

 @92V3FGW from Wisconsin  answered…3yrs3Y

Instead of raising the minimum wage we should reward hard workers with increased pay.

 @92P43J4Democrat from Wisconsin  answered…3yrs3Y

Yes, but in two year increments. Start at $11.00/hour then increase every two years based on the average inflation.

 @92CNVHS from Wisconsin  answered…3yrs3Y

I think it should be judged based on age of employees and also I disagree that it should be $15 an hour but possibly should be $10 an hour

 @92BSHHJ from Wisconsin  answered…3yrs3Y

Please don't even mess with it, let the econ stats and financial world deal with that, the involvement of the government is 100% screw it up.

 @9256X3W from Wisconsin  answered…4yrs4Y

we should fix the economy before we change that but i think we should raise it in the end

 @9252628 from Wisconsin  answered…4yrs4Y

The minimum wage is different for every state so we shouldn't change anything about minimum wage.

 @9224R8T from Wisconsin  answered…4yrs4Y

 @8ZYNQ85 from Wisconsin  answered…4yrs4Y

 @8ZYMY76 from Wisconsin  answered…4yrs4Y

I mean, yes, but since it is already at 7.25, I would just increase it to eight.

 @8ZY53SS from Wisconsin  answered…4yrs4Y

Yes, make it living wage and adjust every year, if necessary, according to inflation.

 @8ZSG4MLDemocrat from Wisconsin  answered…4yrs4Y

 @8ZMZBJC from Wisconsin  answered…4yrs4Y

No, the government should abolish the minimum wage and reform union laws

 @8ZMRJL8Independent from Wisconsin  answered…4yrs4Y

if you dont like what you are getting paid work harder and get a better skill set so you get paid more

 @8ZL7DQF from Wisconsin  answered…4yrs4Y

 @8ZJZ74N from Wisconsin  answered…4yrs4Y

The government should regulate wages for each industry rather than simply having one minimum wage for the entire country.

 @8Z9BWVH from Wisconsin  answered…4yrs4Y

 @Tapirwarrior88 from Wisconsin  answered…4yrs4Y

no, it will cause inflation. We should focus on education and trade skills instead

 @8Z6P2B7 from Wisconsin  answered…4yrs4Y

No, but the government should promote and create incentives for companies to give their workers a fair, living wage.
