As someone who has family land in Eagle Pass, unfortunatly NO ONE crossing is innocent. Absolutely NO. However, do better on citizenship processes.

 @9YKK9Y3 from Texas  answered…6mos6MO

Yes, if they were born on American land. But the parents still need to apply, and their applications should be put at a higher importance.

 @9XLYKLF from Texas  answered…6mos6MO

yes but give citizenship after the kids is born in the us and reach 21 buf they born in parents countries then come to the us they should not have citizenship maybe residency but never citizenship they must be born in the us then make it easeir for those kids to apply for citizenship for their parents.

 @9WVMV74 from Texas  answered…7mos7MO

Yes, but only after either the parents or the child have taken the same tests and application processes as legal immigrants

 @9S27YJY from Texas  answered…9mos9MO

Yes, birthright citizenship should remain. Citizenship should be granted upon completion of 4 years of military service or 10 years of non-military Civil Service

 @9KF8PKY from Texas  answered…1yr1Y

No, as is the case in many other countries and neither should children of couples here on a visa of any kind. Permanent resident children should be permanent residents and children of citizens should be citizens.

 @9JPYW5F from Texas  answered…1yr1Y

I believe yes but on certain occasions. The child shouldn't be met with brute military force but possibly a program for kids that cross the border are met with a program to help them. A lot of the time if it's just a child alone crossing the border they don't have a person or parent to go back to.

 @9JPXB5L from Texas  answered…1yr1Y

No, because you are taking them away from their biological family but since they are born on US soil then they will be granted some type of citizenship like dual citizenship.

 @9H73Z2Z from Texas  answered…1yr1Y

It's a very tough issue but Citzenship should not be granted at birth because it would encourage illegal immigration. I support DACA program.

 @9H2VDPSProgressive from Texas  answered…1yr1Y

Yes if they were born here, but the parents don't get citizenship granted then. They have to go through the process like everybody else.

 @9GDCP6Z from Texas  answered…2yrs2Y

No, and we're the one of the very few, or only, country(ies) in the world that still has laws for such, which I think is a continuing misstep.

 @9GBYFGR from Texas  answered…2yrs2Y

Yes, if the children and parents are responsible, follow the law, and the children have to be born here.

 @9FQ6VD6 from Texas  answered…2yrs2Y

Yes, but they should earn it by living here for a certain amount of time and by being law abiding

 @9FKKGG5 from Texas  answered…2yrs2Y

I dont think children of illegal immigrants should be granted citizenship. I dont agree with this because you wuould have to be born here or have at least one american parent to be an american citizen.

 @9FHYP9T from Texas  answered…2yrs2Y

Yes, becuase a lot of immagrant come in illegally becuase they cant afford or arent allowed to be there

 @8Y8BFTV from Texas  answered…3yrs3Y

Only where the traditional doctrine of laches may apply due to federal non-enforcement of the law.

 @8VHC966 from Texas  answered…4yrs4Y

Yes, depending how long they been here and what have they been doing. If they are going to school, want a job and want a future then yes

 @8QZ5BNR from Texas  answered…4yrs4Y

yes, if they were born in America or if they were brought to America as a very young child like around 1 to 2 years old

 @8QY37P8 from Texas  answered…4yrs4Y

they dont have to have a ciizenship to be welcomed here and work for their life

 @8QXKB7ZAlliance from Texas  answered…4yrs4Y

Yes, but if they are 18 and older they must apply themselves and undergo a background check.

 @8QW6QZZLibertarian from Texas  answered…4yrs4Y

If they are born here, yes, they should be granted United states citizenship, however, their parents must work towards formally applying like every other new citizen.

 @8QVZZQZ from Texas  answered…4yrs4Y

No, this question needs more detail. How old are the children? can they read? Are they able to learn to understand basics of being a citizens? I would say give citizen ship to kids under the age about 15. However, the kids need to know some basics for their future. instead of going to school they could take classes on what it means to be an American citizen.

 @8QTPXVH from Texas  answered…4yrs4Y

 @8QS9M55 from Texas  answered…4yrs4Y

They should be granted citizenship by applying however I believe if people are so mad over being illegal in this country they should make it a bit easier.

 @8QRQFZY from Texas  answered…4yrs4Y

No, the parents must formally apply for citizenship, and only then will the child be a citizen.

Yes, if they were born here and possibly give their parents a chance to be granted citizenship after a certain amount of time living in the U.S.

 @8J6YPQZ from Texas  answered…5yrs5Y

We should have free and open immigration after the individuals have received background checks and health screenings.

 @8HXBLQD from Texas  answered…5yrs5Y

If their parents were making steps to try and get legal, the child should be a citizen as soon as the parents manage it.

Regardless, it's constitutional for children born here to be given citizenship

 @99PSYMG from Texas  answered…2yrs2Y

The issue of immigration should not be a criminal one but a civil one as well as a global human rights crisis. It’s not just simply about citizenship.

 @98XTM99 from Texas  answered…2yrs2Y

Yes, if they were born here however it should not guarantee their parents citizenship

 @96RSC25 from Texas  answered…3yrs3Y

Only if their parents were in this country for at least 1 year prior to their birth and are actively working toward being here legally.

 @8QTG86P from Texas  answered…4yrs4Y

No, but they should not be deported and the citizenship process should be expedited

 @8QMXVDV from Texas  answered…4yrs4Y

Yes if they lived here they entire childhood, educated in US schools and became acclimated or "Americanized".

 @8NN9YCL from Texas  answered…5yrs5Y

Treat each case on its merit. illegal migrants should not be granted citizenship or right to vote, instead a conditional residence as long as they pay tax not involved in any illegal activity. Children of illegal immigrants should remain permanent residents until 18 but provided access to education and employment just like citizens. In other words give them a fair chance to make use of the opportunity to become full citizens. People who meet a certain criteria such as serve full term in armed forces or complete higher education should be expedited through the process.

 @8GHNLCYSocialist from Texas  answered…5yrs5Y

Yes, if they were born/raised in the US and know nothing else of living in another country

 @8FMS5FC from Texas  answered…5yrs5Y

Yes, their parents must pay taxes and they must obtain a high school diploma or GED before the age of 21 to obtain permanent citizenship.

 @9WRW6CJ from Texas  answered…7mos7MO

They should not just be granted legal citizenship they must stay in this country to 10+ to get there citizenship
