Gun control will not save lives. It will essentially enable convicted felons access to guns while the common citizen would not have the same access.

Guns should be controlled without the cost of tasks like hunting and shooting. They should focus on better ways for stopping shootings from ever happening.

Criminals are criminals for a reason. They do not respect or follow the law. They will get guns while every day hard working Americans will be forced to leverage their careers against felony charges just to protect themselves against criminals with guns. Gun control is a direct threat to the U.S Constitution and public safety.

Gun control laws mainy affect those that are inclined to follow them. An overall reduction in the number of guns sold has a disproportionate effect on those that generally do not commit crimes with those guns. For example, Colorado's recent law to require safety training to purchase certain types of guns restrict gun types that are rarely used in crimes. There is also no scientific data that supports that safety training has any effect on criminal use of firearms. These laws place an undue and unconstitutional burden on a protected right without any demonstrable effect on crime. The statement "people are worth more than...guns" is a false dichotomy. It is the people with crimnal intent that need to be controlled, not the tools that only a very small fraction of people abuse.

People will continue to kill people using whatever means necessary. Guns give people the power to protect themselves from the deranged.

I agree with this, there must be a long process for getting a firearm, for hunters, you must have no criminal record and you can apply for a license, America doesn’t need to be unsafe.

I agree with this statement, except that I don't think recreational use of guns should be taken away entirely. That practice is a crucial and meaningful part of some Americans' cultures, part of their way of life. However, to regulation and the process of screening and background checks should be thorough, and I wouldn't fight it if it was a considerably long amount of time before someone could get a gun.
