Honestly, this is exactly what happens when countries ignore the hard realities of power and security. All the wishful thinking about democracy or aid means nothing if you can’t actually enforce order on the ground. It’s no surprise that criminal gangs are filling the vacuum—states exist to provide security, and when they fail, something else always steps in. The international community talks a big game about “helping Haiti,” but nobody wants to commit real resources or take responsibility. If the major powers aren’t willing to use force or at least back up the government with serious support, then expecting anything to improve is just naïve.

This is what happens when weak governments and endless foreign aid replace real accountability and law enforcement. It’s not America’s job to fix every failed state, especially when our own borders and cities have problems. Maybe if the international community stopped enabling corruption and demanded real reforms, Haiti wouldn’t be in this mess.
