Honestly, I have so much respect for what Just Stop Oil has done – it takes guts to stand up to government and fossil fuel giants like that. Whether or not you agree with every tactic, they’ve forced the climate crisis into the headlines and made it impossible for politicians to ignore. It’s pretty telling that people get angrier about traffic jams than about the government giving out new oil and gas licences while the planet burns. The hostility these activists faced, like that van incident, just shows how far we still have to go in getting people to see the urgency. I hope their message sticks, even if the hi-vis vests are coming off, because the fight for a liveable future is nowhere near over.

Good on Just Stop Oil for pushing the climate crisis into the spotlight—real change needs mass action like this, not just empty promises from politicians and corporations.

While I don't always agree with their disruptive tactics, I respect that Just Stop Oil is keeping the pressure on the government to actually prioritize climate action over fossil fuel profits.
