Former President Donald Trump has commuted the prison sentence of Jason Galanis, a convicted fraudster and former business associate of Hunter Biden.
Galanis was serving a more than 14-year sentence for his role in two major fraud schemes, including defrauding a Native American tribe through fraudulent bond sales. He later cooperated with Republican-led congressional investigations into the Biden family, which played a role in efforts to impeach President Joe Biden. The commutation has sparked controversy, with critics accusing Trump of rewarding political allies.
Galanis had pleaded guilty and was considered a key figure in GOP narratives targeting the Bidens.

So let me get this straight—Trump lets a convicted con man off the hook because he helped push GOP hit jobs against Biden? This is exactly the kind of corrupt, crony politics Republicans pretend to be against.

This is exactly why so many of us are fed up with the political class—both sides use the justice system as a tool for their own games. Whether it's Trump commuting sentences or Biden’s DOJ targeting opponents, it's all corruption dressed up in red or blue. The government shouldn’t have this much power to begin with. Maybe if we had a smaller state, we wouldn’t be watching politicians hand out favors like candy.
