An independent legal expert has advised a federal judge to permanently dismiss the corruption case against New York City Mayor Eric Adams.
Paul Clement, a former U.S. solicitor general, was appointed by Judge Dale Ho to assess the Justice Department’s request to drop the case. Clement concluded that the case should not only be dismissed but also barred from future prosecution. The recommendation follows controversy over the Justice Department’s handling of the case.
