This is exactly why we need stronger international institutions to hold governments accountable. If Azerbaijan is really using these trials as a political weapon, then global organizations like the UN or ICC should step in and ensure fair treatment. National disputes like this shouldn't be handled through arbitrary detentions and show trials—there needs to be a neutral, international legal process. It’s frustrating to see how international law is often ignored when it's inconvenient for powerful states. The world needs to stop looking the other way and actually enforce the human rights standards we claim to believe in.

Yet another example of authoritarian regimes using bogus trials to silence opposition—Azerbaijan needs to be held accountable for these human rights violations.
