Did the Chinese just sabotage a NATO asset? Please tell me this isn’t the start of WW3.

China is playing an interesting game.

The problem is that we have allowed them to become the factory of the world without considering the consequences. We can't simply start a tariff war, for example, without having the same resources locally.

Britain was the founder of the Industrial Revolution, and yet now we have almost no manufacturing worth considering. We are in the process of discarding our farming assets as well.

Western politicians are almost to a man and woman shortsighted, naive and uninformed.

No - you are too late - ww3 officially started when we (NATO) started shooting at the Russians yesterday.

A technical act of war doesn't mean you have to go to war. The big powers poke at each other periodically but it doesn't mean you necessarily go to war - this is how its worked for many many centuries

Great to see that the Danish did board the vessel.

When the identical sabotage was done earlier this year to cut the data cable between Finland and Estonia, they allowed the vessel to go back to China.

That was a clear mistake, as Russia gets enboldened by weak action.

When a russian plane penetrated Turkish airspace a few years ago, Turkey shot it down. Just like that.

No more russian military planes in their airspace. No escalation. Almost total silence from Russia.

Alors?

Did you look at the ship track before posting this quote? Because it's absurd they were dragging anchor in the pattern they were by accident. This is far more likely to be intentional and anyone clearing Russia this quickly is premature.

Gibbs rule #39.

What are the odds that 2 sea cables in different locations get damaged at the same time???

Of course in the spirit of non escalation, what do you think unnamed US officials would say???
