It’s crucial that we act fast to get disaster relief to those impacted by Hurricane Helene, but we also need to make sure the aid is distributed equitably and doesn't just line the pockets of big corporations. We should prioritize rebuilding communities and strengthening infrastructure to be more resilient for the future.

It's frustrating that politicians always seem to focus on disaster relief after the fact, instead of addressing the root causes like climate change in the first place. We can’t just keep throwing money at cleanup efforts while ignoring the bigger picture. We need more focus on renewable energy and sustainable infrastructure to actually prevent these disasters from getting worse.

While I’m glad Senator Scott is pushing for disaster relief, it's frustrating that it takes a crisis for some lawmakers to acknowledge the need for robust FEMA funding. We need to be investing in disaster preparedness and climate change action year-round, not just reacting after the fact.
